Thinking of Pale Master here, but curious whether any of the sets will get upgrades to accommodate new PrEs of rank 3 that have come out, or are coming out.

palemaster has its tier3 tod effect
the others dont have a tier3, but once we will get that, the rings will upgrade too
thats the reason why we dont have the tier3s yet

What is the Pale Master's tier III effect?

epic nullification 8 (not sure on the number, might be 6 too)
+60% on negative energy spells

I was just wondering about this same thing today. It's nice that Pale Master got their tier 3 bonus but there are several other complete PREs that don't have one yet.

If you want them to work how they did the palemaster one.. You should expect them to nerfed.
Original pale master set was +200% negative energy damage.
It was nerfed to +60% when the PrE was released.
IE: Less then what a level1 superior nihil clicky would provide. Pretty weak.

That's real ****. What's the point? That's less than a clicky, and barely more than a Superior Potency item, and with no negative energy spells for wizards past level 6, there's no trouble there.
I had asked the question because on the Definitive Loot thread the bonus was listed as just the +200% for the set, with no indication of the change for the tier III enhancement.
**** like this, and many of the changes coming with the next update, really have me feeling disenchanted with DDO...like, I may just go back to playing console games exclusively.
You know what's funny? Even if they nerf the Shintao set to +1 hit and damage from the +2, it's STILL better than the Tier I and II PrE right now. :D
*goes back to the current live before it's irrevocably changed and my toon is rendered meaningless*

Because a +200% passive damage bonus didn't seem a bit too powerful now that we actually have a PrE that specializes in negative energy damage?
Would you rather they didn't nerf it until people have actually farmed it for their PMs?

The negative damage spells that we're getting would not be overpowered with a 200% bonus. Not by a long shot.

its incoming negative energy, not outgoing
so you would get double healing from your negative spells and death aura already heals for a **** high amount per tick

Let's hope the developers send us a note about it and don't nerf it.
I am actually concerned for the CRAFT on the rings, since my Henshin is with holy burst and my ninja spy is going for Shock.
What would happen with the crafts and the rings? Rings, retroactive auto changes or just another "dreamspitter"? Craft? lost?
Well, If they have any consideration for the poor monks that need to farm the Trophy to emulate greensteel effects, I hope they don 't nerf us!

No it was not.
The original Pale Master bonus was +200% to negative energy damage received by the player.
It did not affect the spells you cast at enemy targets, only any and all incoming negative energy damage on the caster with the items equipped.

Whether 200% is overpowered with PM or not is irrelevant. The important point is that the 60% boost is essentially worthless. Dropping the value by a chunk isn't my (main) complaint, it's that they did so and didn't put anything else in place to make the set worth hunting for.
Why would any Pale Master choose the PM set over the Archmage set? In fact, unless you really want the Archmage set for the +0.25% damage on spell crits, why wear a set at all? There are much better belts in the game.
I feel like the devs have locked themselves into this numbers game, where all the loot we get has to make us bigger and better in a linear sense, rather than introducing new and unique effects that are interesting and useful without necessarily adding to inflation.

AA technically only has 1 tier in the game. AA I.
All PrC's w 3 tiers currently in game have a corresponding tod set with a tier 3 bonus.
As already stated, no new tier 3 PrC's were released w this update.
Let's see the other tod sets created for ToD for future PrC's (FvS, scorpion wraith, jaggernaut, acolyte of the skin).

.According to the devs, (Eladrin specifically, iirc) arcane archer has 5 tiers, corresponding with each additional + arrow, which then unlocks the next tier of imbue.
