to socket them in, take the crystal and the item to the stone of change and combine them in there


A reminder to people out there that are interested in trying these stuff, each of the augment crystals can only go into certain types of items, do take those into account as well!

+2s at level 7 I can understand, because +2s are only uncommon at best nowadays, plus you can buy them from the ddo store. However the builds that assume any +4 tome are the ones I don't get.

Of course, that won't stop people from assuming they can get a Ring of Greater False Life with a Large Guild Slot for an additional +20 HP.

I'd like to see and option to purchase permanent crystals. Every six hours, all slotted gear unequipping (possibly into an already-full backpack (?) sounds frustrating. Almost as much as having to run to the crystal shop every six hours to re-purchase them all.

actually i'd like to see some augment crystals as random drops that are the more powerful version of the ones in Vendor
even ones that gives bonus to UMD! :eek::eek:
that'll make pulling loot somewhat exciting again!

You acquire a randomly generated item with a guild slot, this item will have a minimum guild level required to equip it (as mentioned in the op) then you take that item and one of the augment crystals listen in the op and throw them into the stone of change. The item with the augment slot has its slot filled by the augment crystal and it gains those effects for 6 hours.

there are now items that come with tiny, small, medium, or large Guild slots which you can put in one of those augment crystals of appropriate sizes into
in order to put in the crystal, you must bring the item for the crystal and the crystal itself to stone of change and throw them in there to mix
that's it, each crystal effect lasts 6 hrs from the time you slot them into the item and disappears when the time's up, then you'll have to slot in another one

Or give us more expensive options that last longer. A 12 hour crystal that costs 4x more, a 24hour crystal that is 10x more, etc.

About posting builds...anything past +2 tomes and standard run of the mill gear is foolhardy unless you already have the items...it's a nice goal to strive for, but expecting it is just setting urself up for disappointment......which is one of the reasons we have so many disheartened players on the forums.

6 hours? Big deal. I'd call it epic fail, but at guild level 10 it is only a tiny fail. And the higher augments aren't any better: like if I'm level 20 in a level 70 guild, I want to replace a piece of raid loot with some piece of random junk just so I can run back to the vendor every 6 hours? What a waste of programming time to produce a time-waster for the players.
