Make a new questgiver who needs to you guard a priceless object on its way from point A to point B. (It's magically unstable and can't be teleported). The catch is that the regular commercial captains are too afraid for the mission, so it's only usable if at least one party member has access to an airship of his own.
Therefore, the quest itself takes place in an instance that uses the same graphic as the guild airship belonging to the party leader. Two enemy airships appear nearby and for 5-10 minutes you fight off elementals, mephits, and elven casters. Then your ship manuvers into position to board the enemy, and you work on defeating the bosses. The end.

COH had something lke that ... guild raids they called it (or base raids)
had to be set up min 3 days in advance and set a time both guild leaders had to agree before it was set in stone then when that time hit game sent a tell to all online members of a base attack and both guilds would battle it out ... guild bases in coh had defensive systems (cannons and what not that would attack players from other guilds and it was a ton of fun going in a distroying other peoples base and then when 1 hour passed guild raid was done and you went about fixing your base if you could afford it :)
i expect that guild ship raiding will be brought in eventually as a pvp option but prolly not any time soon .. as for fighting off NPC mobs in your own base that could be cool ... especially if it was for guild renown.

Ya I like this idea, although the limiting factor is the 12 man raid instance. It would be a cool addtion though no doubt.
