View Full Version : Money well spent the tomes didnt even work!!!!

i just spent money on ddo points so i could get tomes of dextarety and wisdom. after using them there wasnt a singl change in my stats whatsoever. plz help because thats real money....

Had you already used a dex or wisdom tome? Tomes dont stack. If you eat a +1 dex tome and a +2 dex tome, you get a total of +2 to dex.

Also, if you start with a 14 dex, and eat a +1 tome, though your dex will now be 15, it will have zero effect on your character until you can get it to 16 (or another even number) through other effects.

As stated, tomes don't stack. +1 and +1 doesn't equal +2 as far as tomes go.

Also, what level are your characters? I might be wrong but I believe the +'s don't kick in until certain levels. If you eat a +2 tome at level 1 for example, you won't see the first +1 until level 3 and the second +1 (for a total of+2) until level 7(?)

I think its +1 at lvl 3, and +2 at lvl 7. I havent seen any commentary on the +3 or the +4, so I cant help you ther.

im level 7 and i just ate a +1 wsdom and a Plus 2 strength nothing happened

Press C to bring up your character screen and scroll over your WIS and then STR score and tell us what is says.

Or even better, put your mouse over your wis and str score and post a screenshot.

Thats not what we need. When you open your character sheet, put your mouse cursor over the number (16 on the str line in your case, and on the 19 for wisdom) and you will get a window opening that will show the breakdown. For example, on my current bard if I roll over the strength 28+9, it shows:

21 Base
1 feat
6 enchanted

We need to know all those numbers and what kind of bonus they are to tell you whats wrong. If you already have a 1 or 2 inherent bonus, that means the tome was applied.
