Power Attack Feat

How do you guys use power attack?

I have taken it for my 2HF pally but really stopped using it because it takes me too long to click the stance, get the animation, and then click the attack. The time it takes me to do all of that seems to equal 2-3 normal swings. For 10 extra HP of damage it just does not seem worth it. What am I missing?

Well, the obvious one seems to be that power attack, like you mentioned, is a stance.
It remains on until turned off manually, or you log out. No need to keep clicking it.

When I click the stance I get the parallel lines which disapear after I swing followed by a 6 second cool down period. Does this mean my next few swings are normal and every six seconds I automatically get a power attack? I guess my initial post should have been simply how does power attack actually work.

Log in. You're standing in the market or whatever. Click your Power Attack button. You'll see the meter go by at the top and the yellow lines. Power Attack is now active, you can see the border of the icon pulsing. From now until you log off (or click it again to turn it off) you will Power Attack every attack you make.

you need to not move for about half a second while the animation above your head goes, to make sure it activates. If you click and move right away, it typically wont come on. You can double check, because there will be a moving line around the icon of power attack. As others said, it will then be active until you log out, or click it again.

You click it once and it turns on. This is indicated by the teal border around the icon. It stays on and all of your melee attacks receive the benefit of Power Attack until you unclick the icon or log out.

Hotbar no 3 (third from bottom)

Last icon in the row (fist punching wall) - thats a power attack - you click to activate it and it stays activated until you unclick it
