OK why can't I get started?

I created an account, I installed the game-- how do I log in and create a character?
When I click the desktop Icon I get a useless gui that: opens a window (in ie, which I do not use and hate, any idea how I can get it to open with Google Chrome?) that asks me to register with a key code.
Where the hell is the button that opens up the game and lets me start?
This is pretty frustrating!

The registration and key code are part of the account process.

The game install should have created a desktop icon for DDO Unlimited. You should also have a turbine group in the start menu. If you don't then the game is not installed (or not installed properly.) If using the Turbine Manager you will get pieces of the game (which is quite large.) You can usually play part of Korthos this way. Double check to make sure the game has completely downloaded and installed.

If you installed using the Turbine Download Manager, it should be under Programs / Turbine.
Otherwise, you should have an icon either on your Desktop or in your Games folder.
