Its been a while since Ive seen the kobolds in WW actually steal items from your back pack that arent locked down! (yes they used to do that radomly)

But it got me to thinking of a new FUN ability for the rogue!

Lets say Rogues had the ability to actually steal things from other players!
Maybe once a day in the day/night time line in the game.
They of course need to make a saving throw.
And the player being robbed needs to make some kind of observational check!
If it is successful, the Rogue actually can steal the item unseen and undetected!:p

If he fails the ability check; he suffers a loss of Rogue abilities for the same time cycle!

I mean in PNP, with a chaotic DM we can do that, so why not here?

Just a thought!

Thats as bad pking which is not a part of the ddo pve game and Im so glad it isnt. I think there should be some sort of pickpocketing rogue feat in pve but it would be more like a chance to get double normal loot from drops, chests and gold piles which equals more chance for a rogue to get a good item. The reason is the rogue is faster and more subtle to pocket things when he makes a successful check.

PvP bad.

And in D&D if you did that you would find yourself in jail or dead if caught doing that **** in a city.

Outstanding thought!
but I think it would be kind of a neat twist on things either way!

How would you feel if nicked your favorite WoP icy burst rapier? Or how about a stack of major mnemonic pots?

If my Wizard caught another player's Rogue doing that, he'd turn the sucker to stone, summon a demon or devil of some sort, and bargain the rogue's soul for something equally useless. Return him to flesh just in time for him to learn that he's been consigned to the abyss for all eternity, in exchange for a mundane quarterstaff or something.

My Druids would turn into a bear, maul him, and then refuse to heal him. Cleric would refuse to heal him. Paladin would cut his hands off. Barbarian? His head. Get the picture?

Well now, just like the kobolds in WW, if it is locked down, its locked down!

And yes that would be funny stuff!

I couldn't support something like this.

Now, pickpocketing from NPC's, where failure means getting killed by the city guards (and there's something more than a minute of neg lvl to penalize a player who dies), and success means an amount of gold commiserate to that NPC's station in life? I'd be all about it.

Then everyone locks everything, and it becomes a waste of a feature.
(Not that I think it's a good idea, anyway.)
