"Silver Weapons": Where to Find It?

Yesterday, my questmates and I did the Church and the Cult in House P. At the end, when we did it on normal, none of us had silver weapons and the vampire took us more than 10 minutes to kill.... It just won't die, and his hps kept getting regenerating everything it seems like we had the upper hand (it had that smirk on its face). It even chased us to the shrine and won't let us heal once we resurrected. Annoying to say the least. We took a lot of damage from his fireballs attack and I think I killed my keyboard too. There must be an easier way to kill a vampire.

Fire is the easiest way really, a caster with Firewall to be precise.

For melees you can search the AH for silver or metalline weapons, both of which will bypass his silver DR.

If you are unlucky with this the Catacombs series in the Marketplace has a decent selection of silver weapons for end rewards. I think there is a longsword, dagger, handwraps, none of which are spectacular but they are available.

I have found with his annoying AI and higher than average AC for the level he can be a pain, if you have 2 melees you can try to pin him into a corner, not easy but possible. This will help keep him in one spot so you can beat on him until he disappears again.

The Catacombs series has a couple weapons in the static rewards that have Silver on them. Otherwise just keep your eye open at the vendor or find a cheapy on the AH.

Otherwise he's vulnerable to light spells so a cleric/FvS with Searing Light works nicely. He's tough to stand and melee against at an equivalent level. A good caster or two with a cleric/FvS make it far easier.

The Sentinals pack has a rapier (http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/5482/corrodedrapier.jpg). Other than that I think the auction house it the only other place to check.

Have one player (and only one player) agro him and bring him out to the doorway. While he is in the doorway, have another player come up behind him and block him in. Drop a firewall on him and he will not be able to get away. Loot chests. :D

I've gotten drops of silver ammo both times I ran Tempest Spine, I think, although I may be misremembering.

Just bring along a nuking Wall of Fire specced caster....you will be able to do N thru E with little problem....as far as the end boss.


The traps in there are pretty nasty tho....and be careful of the death priests....or necromancers...they are called so for a reason...they cast insta-death spells.....more of a problem on elite tho.
