Hey all.
Seeing as how I'm anticipating having to run this frickin quest for the rest of my natural life, I'm curious- has anyone noticed a better drop rate for the named items on normal/hard/elite? Or are they all about the same.
Thanks!

It took me approximate 12 chances ( instance runs * number of people opening chest for me) to get it on elite.
Its pretty random though, but it's a pretty low drop rate. Best bet is to try and talk two guildies into helping you for a night by repeat running it. Once one of you pulls it, mission accomplished.

"helping you for a night"... oh, if only it were that easy for me. I've now run a good 30 runs between two characters with varying group sizes from 3 to 6 characters, and in varying difficulties and never even seen them drop. The real fun one is a joined with a guildy the other night for a couple runs and he said they dropped for the group the run before I joined and there was no monk in the group to pass em to.
Of all the things my halfling luck has gotten me with loot, this still eludes me.

And yes we were getting all 12 gears and the extra chest that it drops in every time.

I've run that quest 6 times and pulled 2 devout handwraps.
first was solo on elite, second was 6 man on elite. Both were with my wizard so I kept one (solo) and gave the other away.

If I use that formula I'm at about 80 chances and have only ever seen them drop twice.

ouch. just ouch. you (and everyone else struggling) have my sympathies.
I convinced my guildies I really needed it as I'm lawful/neutral. I couldn't use non-wrap good/aligned weapons.

I just ran this quest chain with my husband last weekend. He has a level 13 monk and I have a level 15 rogue. We were forced to play the quest on normal since we had never played the chain before. We screwed up the first time so we didn't complete and then re-did the quest with the guide, grabbing all the extra gears. We had a cleric and wizard hireling with us. When we did complete, the handwraps had dropped for him. I knew they were a rare drop but didn't realize they were that rare! Good luck and good hunting everyone!
Got mine on my first run in that quest on my monk.
Fourth run in that dungeon EVER.
(3x on my sorc for favor, 1x on monk who pulled handwraps)

Don't think anyone knows for sure, but my experience is that I've run dozens of runs of Crypt getting my Devouts and getting them for friends and guildies.
My first 10-15 runs were on normal and hard with full groups. We never saw a single set drop.
In the past month, I've ransacked the chest once and then half way to ransack a second time all runs on elite and helped pull 3 sets of devouts.
I've never seen them drop on hard or normal and have now helped 6 monks pull devouts on elite. I think they probably can drop on hard, but with the odds being long anyway, I won't farm on anything but elite from now on.

Just around 2/90 pulls (everyone in group totaled up) for me. Was 1/80 the first time then got one out of 10 of the next pulls. That's on normal btw.

0 / 97 ...... I've run that quest with a full 6 character group various difficulties 97 times ... ZERO wrap drop . I almost began to believe the wraps don't exist until another monk I grouped with in a shroud farm run had those wraps ,then emmense depression set in lol . Already hate necro II quest chain . Really wish the drop rate was a tad better ...
I vowed to myself that if I make it to 100 runs and no wraps I'm just gonna give up bothering on the wraps an stick to the +5 metaline quarterstaff of pure good for a boss beater .

How are you all getting around the quest reflagging? Seperate character you're adding then dropping from party?

I have 3 kids that play DDO...I bought necro 2 for one of them and got it flagged so I'd have an opener. Then I drop them from the group and come into the quest to loot on one of the other characters on the account (for 2 chances at the drop even if no one else comes). I couldn't open elite because I'd have had to run Shadow Crypt at least once on hard, reflag, and then start running it. Didn't feel like waiting that long and it's a pain solo on a monk anyways thanks to the final fight with the vamp.

Got these on my monk's first run through. I brought along 3 friends though in case any of them got them they would also assign them to my monk, but my monk got them anway. brilliant.
I've also gotten them on my rogue's first run through and unfortunately there was no monks in that party :/

This quest gets boring fast, seriously. I'm at run #40 (do it with 2-3 people, can't sucker more people into doing it unfortunately), so about 90~ chances so far, no go.
Getting really, really boring.

I've only done all of the wheels twice and on both occasions the wraps dropped. Both time I was duoing the quest with my son who was on his monk. The rest of the runs we just did the min to finish the quest for the xp.

I farmed that handwrap for more than 40 levels: From the level till 20 then for a loooong time in level 20, and then I TR, and for more loooong level I've farmed: No success at all, never seen it being dropped.
But then Turbine toke some time to perform a maintenance, and gave to us a +2 on the loot till last sunday, i gather some guildies and run into 2 times: One drop!
Last week some friends was doing Shadow Crypt for XP purposes and there's was like 3 time the drop of devout, so I think that would be a very good time to try.
Thanks to my guildie I have it now, and believe-me, it is hard to get it!

On four characters so far, it seems to have dropped on somewhere between the 4th and 12th runs, and most commonly on elite.
I've posted a link to a good instance map in one of the previous Devout handwraps threads.
