Hey Guys,

I'm pretty new to this game (crossover from WOW).

I've tried a few builds, and think I've settled on a fighter (for now)...so I'm lvl4, TWF.

I've managed to get myself +1 full plate, a +1 longsword, and the brackaxe (spell that right?).

I also have an ogre power ring - but it doesn't seem to boost my strenght? Shouldn't I see my stat increase when I equip it?

Anyway, the question is, are there any really, really useful items to get at my level?

T.I.A.!

An ogre power ring wont stack with other +str items. So if you have 2 items that are +1 strength, one of them will give no benefit.

If you want to know what items to look for, check out the static loot thread in the player written guides section of the forums. It lists all of the static loot in the game and where to get it.

Sweet, thanks.

Too bad the strenght items don't stack! :(

Basic rule of thumb is two bonus's of the same type do not stack.

Have you tried DDM's Realm? www.ddmsrealm.com/ddo

You can sort the gear down by level. You can also sort by any column listed. So you can categorize it however you like.

I personally like the item thread to browse gear. If you are looking for specifics, like level range, DDM's realm might helm you narrow things down.

Keep on the lookout for Underwater Action/Feather Falling items.
Make sure to have something ranged. A returning weapon is helpful.
If can get the lesser spearblock bracers, those are nice.
Muckbane

There really is a lot of nice gear but don't try to hard to get it as you will outgrown it quickly.

Get the Sharn pack. Good Exp and good End Reward. Get the Nicked Great Sword , or Nicked Scimitar if you want to stick with Sword and Board. Both much better than +1 Long Sword.

I have TWF, not THF, so the greatsword isn't going to be that useful.

I will see if I can get the nicked scimitar....that looks interesting.

Run the last quest twice and get two nicked scimitars or nicked short sword as your second. I have a TWF Ranger / Rogue carrying these two and do quite a bit of damage.

If you really like Long sword, there is a Nicked Long Sword for running that too, but it is not as good as the Scimitar.

Hmmm....well, if two like items don't stack, then I would go with one scimitar and one longsword. That way I can get the parry and the attack bonus....rather than just one of them....

That tears it. I may finally have to purchase my fist points, so I can get the sharn quest line.

Oh, Sharn it all!

Stacking is not an issue in this case...in twf, it is one attack each with two different weapons. The Nicked long sword won't crit as well as the scimitar, but it is a frost weapon giving an additional 1d6(I think) of cold damage. The Nicekd Scimitars will crit better and is coated in acid, so you will get an additional 1d6 (I think) of acid damage.

The loot from the last quest in Sharn is pretty good for that level of dungeon. It is a fun quest too.

What server are you on (Me Cannith)...maybe we can group?

I'm on Ghallanda....but thanks for the offer!

My boss just told me I can scoot early today, being right before the holliday.... I'm not going to tell the wife, and I'm going to play for a few!

Im a lvl 5 ftr and lvl 3 rgr. You'll need good armor, weapons, and shield. Try to invest in the toughtness enhancement for more health. Since items don't stack, you'll need to have things that increase different things. Get your Will saves up so you wont get held by shamans and such when they use Hold Person, which becomes VERY annoying.

Be careful of the wife aggro. It can lead to Ex-wife-bliss.
