Inter-Guild Organization

I've been wondering about this for a couple weeks now, and even after several days' worth of searching among the myriad forums for something about what I want, I can't seem to find it.

What I'm talking about is some sort of organization or close-knit community between various guilds, specifically the RP guilds. Mechanically, the only way I see this being possible is creating a separate channel and having all members of all participating guilds join that channel. I imagine it should also be open to those players who have characters who have no intent of joining a guild proper, but would appreciate some companions on call.

The effect would be things like: 1) whether you're looking to go questing and no one from your guild is online, you can hit up that channel for other known friendlies to join you, or 2) if you have a message to broadcast to a wide net but not so wide as the whole General channel, this is the place to do it.

I would imagine it would have a name like Legion of Honor, or The Fellowship, or whatever. The name isn't important right now and can be up for debate; I'm sure someone else can come up with a more apt title.

So! Consider this a shout out to all the roleplayers and their guilds of Sarlona. What would be the level of interest in this sort of undertaking?

Interesting. Your idea is precisely what I was looking for. Except it doesn't look like the guilds associated with the Alliance are Heavy RP. Am I mistaken?

Also, what does the channel look like generally, is it IC or OOC?

No not so much.

We pride ourselves on our guild being the most themed guild of DDO. I am open to role-playing, but I am not sure how to implement it really.

I have started a "roleplay" channel but it did not take-off, or course to make it take-off you must commit to the idea and promote and use it alot.

I don't think the Alliance is quite going to be a match for us. I'm looking for something a bit more specific.

In all seriousness though, I don't think too many people will be willing to jump on the bandwagon for this kind of thing. A lot of people pride their guild because of the people in it, and what it stands for. Doing something like this...in all honesty, would just result in another general chat channel most likely full of stupid and spammy conversation. Just my 2 coppers.

Actually, after much contemplation and a bit of discussion with a couple people, I realized that this kind of operation would probably falter quickly. The DDO environment just isn't right for it.
