TR & Veteran Status

If I TR my character and have veteran status, do I get to go on the ship and advance to Level 4 like normal new characters?

No. If you aren't carefull, you might even be forced to redo the tutorial.

You are creating a new, by more powerful character. Veteran status is for new characters.


Hmmm, is there any reason given why it doesn't affect?

Most likely due to the power boost the character is given I wish it were otherwise so it would make the pain of the xtra xp required to lvl slightly less so

But I would argue that the Veteran status already gives a 'power boost' to your first character, so why not your second+ new life of that character.

But I guess the many that have done it haven't raised their voice or it's fallen on deaf ears.

I think the reason it is so is a two parter.

1) The TR mechanic is possibly different in some way to creating a new character that precludes getting the vet head start without a lot of codemonkey work.

2) The devs see a TR as a continuation of your last life, and therefore won't let you skip the first 50k.

In any case, its just about 90mins to get to lvl 4 even on a 2nd TR, so IMO is not a big deal. New characters need the help to get started much more than TRs do, and the system is a great way for a newish player to experiment quickly with different build options and see what they like.
