Hi. Im new to DDO and im starting to get the hang of it.

alright. but just to clear up some Basics.

i am clear with what is BAB, Attack Rolls and Attack Bonus
erm...Attack Rolls and Attack Bonus are actually the same meaning right? just different names?

Now comes the application part.
I read somewhere in compendium that there is 6 attack chains at BAB +26?
and then somewhere in this forum that now you get all 4 Attack chains at BAB +3 or +4 and this is supposingly one of the many changes in the patch released in late 2009.

So the attack rolls/bonus for the 4 attack chains are something like this, as x as your BAB? --> x/x+5/x+5/x+10 ?

so since we now get 4 attack chains at BAB+3/+4, is it still possible to get 6 attack chains?
also, somewhere in this forum...how is it possible to get so many attacks per round in just 1 swing?

i don't understand the mechanics.

here are some resources that i read:
http://ddowiki.com/page/Attack_sequence
http://ddowiki.com/page/Attack_roll
http://ddowiki.com/page/BAB
http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Base_Attack_Bonus

basically...i just want to understand how is it possible to achieve that many hits/attacks in just 1 swing!!!

Depends onif your Single or Dual Weiling.

Two Handed, its a 4 attack sequence. TWF provides 6-8 depending on ITWF and Greater TWF.

btw, +26 bab is Immpossible to get and +26 to hit has no relevance

Different things. When you add your attack bonus to the result of the d20 toss during your attack roll.

I read somewhere in compendium that there is 6 attack chains at BAB +26?
Don't trust the Compendium. It's often wrong, like it is about this. It never was possible to have 26 BAB.

To answer your question, you get all your four animations at 3 BAB. When in doubt, in the future, check the DDOwiki's page of on attack sequences (http://ddowiki.com/page/Attack_sequence) to know how many swings or attacks you get per round based on your BAB. It's up to date, unlike nearly everything regarding to BAB in the Compendium.

So the attack rolls/bonus for the 4 attack chains are something like this, as x as your BAB? --> x/x+5/x+5/x+10 ?
Actually, the progression is +0/+0/+5/+10.

It progresses as follows:

0 BAB: +0/+0
1 BAB: +0/+0/+5
2 BAB: +0/+0/+5
3 BAB: +0/+0/+5/+10

so since we now get 4 attack chains at BAB+3/+4, is it still possible to get 6 attack chains?
No. It never was.

Those are not different attacks but rather different damage sources coming from the same attack. Say that, for example, you have a longsword that deals 1d6 extra fire damage and 2d6 extra good damage, the result would show [longsword damage]+[fire damage]+[good damage] instead of being added together in one number. That's what happens in the thread you linked to: the player's character has a weapon that deals all sorts of different types damage so the line for damage is very long.

Hopefully that helps. :)

No, that was voluntary. I was trying to explain to him how each swing was modified.
