I love this band. Ill be completely honest here. I have always found them to be innovative, and far ahead of their time. They have always boasted quality songs, that had a great vibe and were incredibly memorible. I cant think of alot of time in the 90s where they didnt have a song glued to the radio or video.Dirt was a masterpiece. Both Sap, And Jar Of Flies had amazing songs. Sap has a great duet with Anne Wilson. The self titled album again gave us so many great songs. The guitars were always heavy, the drums tight and slightly technical, the bass grooving, and the vocals. The interplay between Jerry and Layne was unique to say the least. But Layne loved the junk. It kept the band from being as big as they could have been. Then Layne died in 02. The band could have faded away and for 3 years they did.
Then as a benifit the band reunited for a shows in 05-06. They found the chemistry there and brought in William Duvall. Will sang in Jerrys solo band for a few years. They found things working so well they decided to stick around and record a new album. Black Gives Way To Blue was released last year. I love the album and cant say a bad thing about it. Will isnt Layne. He is Will. He fits the band like a glove however. I figured I would share some stuff off their new album and see what people think.
