View Full Version : misery's peak sunny vs snowy?

I know MP is a quest and where it is, etc. But I see these terms: sunny and snowy a lot.

what is the difference? if you do it once, next time you click the gate youre in the sunny side?

Before completing MP the town of Korthos will appear as snowy. Completing it makes it all sunny.

If it's sunny for you, you can't group with players who have it snowy, and vice versa. Correct me if I am wrong!

The Korthos quests are a series that require you to go in stages. You need to complete the Grotto to get access to the Korthos Village. In Korthos Village you need to complete Heyton's Rest, The Cannith Crystal, and The Storehouse Secret to get access to the Tavern quest, The Collaborator. After you do Collaborator you get access to the Korthos Wilderness area and the available quests out there. One of the, Redemption, will allow you to do Misery's Peak. Once you do Misery's Peak you get access to Stormreach Harbor.

They have this done so that you can't get in on a quest that you don't have access too, and after you complete Misery's Peak, you can't get into any party with people who have yet to complete it. The Term Snowy Side refers to those characters who have yet to complete Misery's Peak, and Sunny Side referring to those characters that have. The term is derived as Sanetri has pointed out.

Completing misery's peak makes the white dragon go away. When the white dragon goes away, it takes the snow with it, so all is happy and sunny in tropical Xendrick.

Sunny and Snowy korthos are seperated by time, not distance. You can't go back to snowy any more than you can go back and not watch Macgruber.

Also, if you've got Veteran Status and create a level 4 character, you can't go to the Snowy Side of Korthos, though you can do the quests.

game have a bug for veteran chars (started as lvl 4).. even if you have done misery peak after creating your char. you will still be able to join snowy side chars on a group. you wont be able to see your friends on the town map but you can see them when you enter dungeons.

other than that.. you are correct.

bug goes away after getting a level to 5.
