CONTEST INFO:
Over the next few weeks I'll be doing a series of sketches and offering up some prizes for people who solve the puzzle! This contest will be open to anyone except for DDOcast contributors, and will require that you download the U.S. client for Dungeons and Dragons Online.* Otherwise, be the first person to use the emote /kneel in front of the person whose name will be revealed, on the right server and at the right time and date and you'll win this:
http://images.quickblogcast.com/82681-72328/DDOContestPosterGiveawayresized.jpg?a=79
Also,1500 Turbine Points. Neat, huh? A real collectors item.
The second person to type /kneel in front of the person will get 1500Turbine Points*. Third person to do this will get 1000 TP. The first puzzle will be broadcast in next week's show, Episode 168, and will probably continue for the following two weeks. I'll post them up on the following Mondays as individual files for people to download/listen to as well.
Good Luck!
*European Server players who wish to have their Turbine Point winnings exchanged for a game time card will be able to do so. The intent is not to take players away from any particular server or service, but for simple logistic reasons. The exchange offer is for European server players only, as I don't have the money for U.S. game time cards as well. The use of the emote /kneel while targeting the proper person is to deal with any situations in which multiple players show up at once. In that case, the first /emote listed in the social panel will be used to determine the winner.

Awesome segment, Clanky. I loved the BattleTech references! (yes, there are a few of us still alive!)
...also, it sucks having a segment played anywhere near yours. You overwhelm everything.

Here's a tip for you Alex. If you want to overwhelm other people's segments, do what Clanky does--yell it at the top off your lungs! The profit margin on my material is low, so I have to make up for it with volume.
Yay. somebody else played BattleTech. I was hoping Clanky's old school references wouldn't fall on deaf ears. I figued they were so old that any ears they did fall on would be hard of hearing. That's another reason for the VOLUME.

I hear this from folks every now and then, not sure what to do to fix it. The show plays fine for me when I test it, and it's downloaded fine off iTunes. What audio player are you using? Are you trying to stream it or play it after downloading it? What Internet browser are you using?
If I was to guess, I'd say you're using Firefox with a Quick Time plug-in, seems to be the most common combination when this problem happens. I have no idea what's the deal, although if I was to guess I'd say that the audio player is trying to play back the audio at a different rate than what it was encoded at (64kbps, mono, 44.1hz, 16 bit.)

I'm using Chrome, and the odd thing is it is only this episode. 167 and previous episodes sound fine. I've just been streaming it, but I'm just about to go try downloading off iTunes and see if that is any better.
Edit: apperantly it's not on itunes yet, guess I'll try downloading and using various players

While listening to your cast I heard that you were interested in some wilderness info. This is one of the many reasons I built DDM’s Realm and the DB that drives it, information. So I pulled a quick query on this info and here are my findings.
Total XP Available for all Wilderness areas: 1,498,860
Total XP Available excluding Korthos: 1,490,498
Breakout of Wilderness
Steam Tunnels, The: 360
Cerulean Hills Wilderness: 5125
Waterworks Wilderness : 6,249
Soami Gardens: 6,500
Eerie Forest : 7,625
Aussircaex's Valley Wilderness: 8,250
Korthos Island Wilderness: 8,362
Mount Reysalon : 8,750
Subterrane -East- Wilderness, The: 10,331
Searing Heights Wilderness: 20,592
Tangleroot Gorge Wilderness: 25,383
Three Barrel Cove Wilderness: 31,365
Restless Isle Wilderness : 33,727
Sorrowdusk Isle Wilderness: 34,192
Ataraxia's Haven Wilderness: 39,565
Devil Battlefield, The : 171,926
Reavers Reach Wilderness: 191,874
Orchard of the Macabre Wilderness: 200,741
Sands of Menechtarun Wilderness: 202,082
Giant Hold Tor Wilderness: 207,733
Vale of Twilight Wilderness: 278,128
This is assuming that you do not repeat anything. Repeat rares are worth 33% so you really can pull a bunch more XP out if you want to just grind the rares.
So by these numbers you should be able to easily level up. In fact you can probably do a TR as well, however that second TR would be one heck of an ugly grind to go through the rares… over and over and over…
Anyway, hope this helps answer some of those questions.

Fantastic! If you'd like to add a link to this info on DDMsRealm that would be good as well. Looks like it is indeed possible, with about 500,000xp in rare repeats.

Who signed that with the cat? (top left near the "Unlimited")
MM, I honestly couldn't tell you who signed it with the Cat, and I'm not sure Tolero could tell you either.
I had gotten 4 signed Posters from Tolero and the rest of the Dev Team. 2 of them had Orcas or Killer Whales drawn on them, 1 had the Cat you are referring to, and 1 had kick ass Dragon on it.
She specifically mentioned the Orca's and not knowing what they were, who had drawn them or why they included them on the posters.
So I'm OFFICIALY Starting the Rumor, that when we get Underwater Combat in Update 6, they (Orcas) will be one of the New Monsters we get to face off against.
Update 8 we get to see/fight Fluffy Werekittens.

For those interested, Holger from DDO-Daily.com has been kind enough to host the separate audio file of the contest sketches for me (to keep the RSS feed organized and such): http://ddo-daily.com/ddocast-poster-contest-part-1#more-1027
That way you can hear it/study it without having to deal with the rest of the show. Thanks Holger! DDO-Daily rules.

I know it is a little generic, but I plan to add a bit more functionality in the future.

Great show again everybody! Just a few notes:
-Nice to hear the original theme back again. Keep it, it's a freakin' classic.
-It is just me or does Alex Haddock sound like Paul Harvey? (jk Alex, please don't hit me.)
-Clankenbeard has inspired me. I've rolled up my first cleric on Orien and I made sure to take a really low WIS score so I don't have take as many BIO breaks.

Good one +1 Rep
Why would you give him a +1 REPrimand for making such an enlightened build choice? Sweet mother of pearl! You forum trolls are all the same. :D
Unrelated Topic: Clanky thinks we should all start up a "Guild Build" where we get together on the weekends and start construction of our airships. It'll be just like an Ahmish barn raising except with boats and 40ft off the ground. Get your ducks in a row! LONG BEARDS ARE NOT OPTIONAL!
p.s. Bonus points to anybody who knows what the ducks are all about. (Clanky is an engineer in real life.)

Are you just throwing in anything about ducks here Steiner? This is not a duck thread. There's no post that is titled "Ducks. Ducks. Ducks." What I was specifically asking for was "Where does 'get all your duck in a row' come from?" It has absolutely nothing to do with actual "quack quack" ducks. It's a tie-in to airships.

That would actually be cool to see, a set up for the most basic guild structures you need to get the airships rolling along. Let us know if you come up with anything good on that note!

Well as we all know the pants sailors wear are called ducks, so getting your "ducks in a row" is getting your sailors lined up. Now, even though these are airships we're talking about they are still crewed by sailors, I suppose because they're sailing the high sky's instead of the high sea's. Would that make them skymen instead of seamen?
But I digest. The reason we are getting our ducks in a row is so we can start building our airships. Now you normally wouldn't use sailors to build an airship. But we can't ask house Cannith to build them because then we would end up with BattleTech airships that talk back to us, get annoyed when we push their buttons and have no way for us to get in them.

Perhaps as a sail or a two-man lifeboat. The Artist on that comic Joe Madureira got a lot more liberal with Red Monika's busooms than depicted in my linked picture. I wasn't a huge supporter of his work. But his work clearly has huge supporters.
