Fail to download splash screens

This problem just started on my second machine. During launch of the game the launcher comes up and says updating, downloading splash screen 1,2,3, then hangs at 4.
I have left it running all night, no help, restarted it multiple times, reinstalled game, no help. Everything installs & updates fine to that point.
Any other ideas? I am at a loss.

well, not sure what changed, but after a few restarts and a couple of days of waiting, it's working now.
