Currently wondering if anyone would be willing to hold some items that I need to move off a character I intend to delete so I can transfer them to my main.....?

Expensive - postal fees
Somehow Sarchasm just can't be with-held by some people.....
If you are in the position to feel that postal fees are too expensive, odds are that the items are not worth all that much anyways, unless someone handed down some really nice stuff to you. You are probably under level 4 if you cannot afford postage. If the gear is worth keeping, mail some gold over from your main character to pay for the postage.
Note that items which are bound to character cannot be transferred at all, which includes much of the decent gear you get on Korthos (ie, the few items that you might use past level 4). If they are bound to account, the only way you can transfer them is to buy the shared bank from the Turbine store (or subscribe, since it is included for the $15/month).
The loot and cash flow improves at each level. With time, you'll get over your attachment to lowbie gear. There are relatively few items in the game (low-mid levels anyways) that you will wear or even want to own for more than a few levels.
You're better off to focus on leveling up your main character, and then use their nicer loot / greater cashflow to twink out your alt.

I do not know what the word "Sarchasm" means.
I gave you the 2nd best advice you will get on how to transfer items between characters when you lack a shared bank account.
The best is get a shared bank account, it is very valuable in that you can share "Bound to Account" items among your characters.
Kimber was correct though. If you can't afford the postage, odds are you arent going to have anything worth the hassle. Mailing the items between characters is infinitely more intelligent than seeking out a complete stranger to trust in them giving you your items back.
Some people are not aware that you can mail items to your own characters, it is not possible in some mmo's, and it was not always possible in this one.
My advice was genuine. If you found it sarcastic, you may be a little thin skinned for these parts.

Under the circumstances, I'll point out a detail in regard to that bit. "your characters" means your OTHER characters, not the one you're currently using.
Best options, as already listed:
1) Shared bank.
2) Mail.
3) In game friend you trust.
This should be only your last resort:
4) Stranger from the forums, even a well-known one.
Given the last OP activity here was 6 hours ago, probably moot point.

Honestly - it was a simple request - it's all of a five to ten minute log-off-log-on thing - obviously you people have means to afford LUXURY account stuff,,, but that was not what I posted this for - it was just a simple request to ""borrow"" someones time,, If you have the means to handle fiscal contribution to Turbine - more power to you,,, thanks for NOT offering to solve my problem -instead you felt I needed to know methods I already was aware of - BUT STILL made this post anyway,,, thanks for dropping by and informing future visitors to this thread of their options for moving things from one toon to another,,
I still want to borrow someones time so I can move a couple things off one toon to another......

My response to your thread was to inform future visitors of their options to transfer items from character to character, I have no illusions of your willingness or ability to do so. If you have still not found anyone to help you after this long, please figure out how much the postage will cost you and let me know what your characters name is. I would be more than willing to send you a few plat if you cannot afford the luxurious lifestyle that I enjoy.
PS. Just to give you a small bit of perspective, alot of people check the forums when they are not able to play. The odds of someone seeing your post, then hopping on for a quick ten minutes to help you are not very realistic on this new of a server.

All that's been suggested would be great if it worked - if you read this and know why my alter character shows as ""DOES NOT EXIST"" when I generate the postal letter - then please by all means explain....
as it is soo far can't mail from one character on my account to the other - and that is baffling by itself...
soo ,,, I simply hope someone takes a few minutes to offer me the oppotunity to borrow carry-on space of thier toon to transfer somethings....
thanks in advance....;)

Uhhh, I gotta ask. When you're trying to mail your items to another character, are you entering JUST the chars first name? Cause, heh, you gotta leave last name off...server only recognizes first name. Oh, yeah. They have to be on the same server too....

Appearently, I was typing character FULL names when generating post, USE FIRST NAME if you want to mail items between you're characters, and can only be done ON THE SAME SERVER, can't mail to a different server, and cost is based on size of data within the postal generate, soo there is the solution to the problem I had, and eventually I'll contribute to Turbine and D&D on-line financially, at this time though - funds aren't available... Oh-well...
problem solved....
