When you have enough exp to level up, talk to the trainer for the class you would like to multi-class into, but be warned, without planning, multi-class toons are REALLY REALLY easy to muck up.

Once you are ready to level just talk to another class trainer and advance to the next level with him - And I believe there are no restrictions set to free to play accounts regarding multiclassing.

A (potentially) helpful article regarding multiclassing can be found here: http://ddowiki.com/page/Multiclass

Yes you can multiclass.

The only restrictions are the pay to play classes of course (If you can't create one you can't multiclass in one either)

If you want to multiclass just go to one of the class-trainers once you have leveled up.

But! If you are new to this game you can easy gimp your charakter with multiclassing. Read the forums about multiclass builds that helps alot.

Just to stress this : multiclassing without planning is the easiest way to gimp a character.

In this game its easy to gimp a pure class character if you dont know what you're doing...

What multiclass where you thinking of going?

There are some traps like people thinking splashing a level of Sorc or FvS will help spellpoints when it in fact adds very little for what you lose on cap...

rats, was gonna issue a warning about multiclassing but 4 other posters beat me to it!

it really depends on your short term vs long term balance. if you care about getting a character to end game and being able to cope with the content then find a build template you like the sounds of and follow it. if your more interested in having fun mixing things up and seeing that happens without much care to get into end game then multi class away and enjoy the early content.

also some classes have an alignment restriction, so if your a chaotic neutral barbarian then you cant choose to take a level of paladin as paladins have to be lawful good.
