So I just finished a solo run of the "Proof is in the Poison" quest. As most of you know, this quest is very long and I think only has 1 shrine. I took my time, though, and got all the way through.

I killed the 3 or 4 mini bosses along the way, and the final boss. I was feeling good with my accomplishment. Until I opened the final chest... a Robe! That's right, a plain old Robe. I was stunned!

All that work, effort and time for a lousy Robe. My gawd. And it wasn't even cool looking! Maybe if it was neat I might have kept it to wear around the Harbor/Marketplace, but this thing was pathetic...

Anyway, nothing special about this post. Just wanted to share my utter disappointment with everyone. =)

oh yes this is one of the worst quests for reward... i only do it if there is abosutely nothing else to do and even then im hesitant :|

I did get the exp (and luckily gained a rank). I would've been happy with some vendor trash like a +1 Thundering Sickle of Backstabbing or something like that. Just felt like a kick to the man-junk.

You did not indicate what the setting you ran the quest on. That being said, however, all you get when running a quest is loot from the appropriate treasure tables. The Treasure table for a level 5 quest (if you ran it on normal) could be pretty weak in value. Did you get any gold or other items in the end chest? You should not be getting ONLY a robe as the contents, but an item, some gold and perhaps some gems or other cash value loot.

FYI, there are more chests along the way in that quest if you can find and open them.

This quest does however give the most EXP and Favor of any quest of that level.
