The sad reality is that you dont have many options other than bloodstone, and thats the main reason why bloodstone is so expensive, the arrowhead wont be much easier to find, and is worst than bloodstone, the other trinket you may want it litany of dead, but i would say is much harder to get than bloodstone... i used voice of the master all the way to lvl 20 (once duskheart got overrid), and i m still trying to buy a bloodstone without going broke...

Also, isn't the litany of the dead an evil item? So you would take a neg level with it on. Bloodstone is about the best a paladin can do right now

The neg lvl penalty is so small I still say the litany trinket is worth it.

If it ends up evening out many stats (Like STR, CON, or CHA) then it can be worth it to take that neg lvl on some builds. Getting to an even STR is more damage, CON is more HP, and CHA is more turn attempts (for things like Divine Might) and higher LoH. That and the stacking bonus to attack/damage is nice too.

There aren't a lot of great trinkets. It's only a trinket. It's not supposed to be teh solt of uber awes0ME! If you don't have a shield clickie or can't use wands of shield a brooch of shielding (same as Rakhat's trinket I think) is a nice, if temporary solution to magic missile damage.

I know you don't want to hear this, but all of the other recommendations are excellent, but situational:

Head for UMD, Pop X for shrining/buffing, heck I have a Bauble (only guy in 3 man guild run with a mana bar!), and even a Bat for FF.

However, with the Litany beiong a difficult raid drop to get, you need to be thinking how to get yourself a Bloodstone.

I farmed my first one on my Sorcerer. He has so many kills I had to stop going into the Desert before the level cap went from 16 to 20 or I would loose all that XP!

It took me over 100+ chest openings to get my first Bloodstone, but then it probably is a 1 in 100 chance.

Also, while prices may vary on your server, keep your eyes out for deals. I traded for my second one (before the Turbine Store and better ones for sale) with someone who wanted 50 Major mana pots for one!

And I must have REALLY wanted my third bad as I traded two Large Scales and 2 Large Stones for it! Now while that sounds like I over paid (and I think I probable did) I had pulled both of those Scales AND both of those Stones in one week of Shroud runs!

Again, a Bloodstone is the best trinket to have equipped while fighting IMHO as your Pally's damage is all about crits, and CONFIRMING those crits!!!

IMO...Littany of the Dead is the best trinket in the game. Depending on the weapon and whether or not it bumps you up a STR category it actually out DPS's a bloodstone, even more so when a mob has fortification or is immune to crits.

The neg level penalty is only -5hp, -1 saves, -1 skills and most of that can be made up for if the littany puts you on an even stat number.

Edit: If you combine the Littany with Mentau goggles the DPS far exceeds that of a bloodstone.

Or you can just wait for update 5 and find a new ioun stone with a suppressed power and upgrade it via the IQ quest. Some of those are pretty nice.

More important (way more important) then confirming the crits is the +6 to crit damage befor multipliers. Thats why the bloodstone is so coveted. A slot that normally wouldnt be needed full time for anything else, becomes free damage.
