Everyday before I come on to the DDO forums I go check the forums really quick of my alt game....the one I play when Turbine has downtime or is doing maintenance and I really want a gaming fix.

Well....for a backup game I liked it a lot...in fact there was a time I left here for quite a bit of time and made it my full time game.....so I did actually have a bit of time invested.

Well...this particular game has 4 different servers ATM....and during there latest maintenance which they do every week they suffered a catastrophic memory loss.

While the server I played on wasn't effected, one of the other ones was.......BTW it's a f2p/store model game. Well, people literally lost hundreds of RL dollars spent on this game from store bought items and billions of dollars in in-game bought items, which unlike this game you pretty much have to have to advance in higher levels and guess how they were compensated.........900 AP......an AP there is the equivalent of a TP here......and one weekend 25% experience increase.

BTW the 900 AP is worth about $10 if even that.

It should go without saying I am thru with that game......but think about that before u go off on Turbine customer service next time.....while it can be myabe lacking at times.....it comes nowhere close to being like that other game.

BTW....this is absolutely a true story, I just do not know if it is ok to post the games name.

Pretty sure you can post it. After the offer-wall, I think lotsa things are allowed.

And TBH, I have had actuall good customer service with Turbine.

Remember when TR was bugged for a short time? I did the Shroud Pre-req quest but the NPC would not give me the things needed for the free XP and the way to open the alter so I could get into the shroud. I filled a ticket, and the next day...my mail in game had the items in it and I could then use them to craft that thing to turn in...

Anyway that is nuts. Similar thing would be if people bought a *TON* of packs and then Turbine deleted certain modules/packs and offered no refund. Personally I am VIP and I feel I am doing ok with the $14.99 subscription. If I ever want to quit (almost did due to offerwall, but Turbine then apologized and I forgave); I do not lose anything. Also, If Warner Brothers decides tomorrow that they are closing servers to focus on "Harry Potter" and "Lord of the Rings"; I would not be out of a ton of cash.

Anyway sorry to hear that fellow gamers (yes we are in this together) got screwed like that. Maybe we should be cruising their forums and telling them to try this game out. Heck I would be willing to roll a lowbie to run with "good new people".

I sincerely love this game, and want it to be around for a very long time. New players and new income are very important to research and developement. AKA maybe players from your "alt game" can generate the money for my to get Druids, Half-orcs and Gnomes!

As far as I know there is nothing in the ToS preventing the mention of other games, People mention other games all the time...

It's a sign...we need to take off our shoes and play DDO in our underwear :D

And yup, Turbine has it's problems but they show much more concern for their client base than most. What happened there is a load of rubbish, in fact would you put it past them to have intentionally reset and give out measly compensation? It means people need to spend again and are expected to be sympathetic.
