There's a great bio of Frank as an extra feature on the
movie "Fire and Ice" I think. An animated movie by Bakshi.
Cheers

Rest in peace, Good Sir.
This hits me hard, since I've loved his work since... ****, forever - it seems. His art was simply amazing, and inspired so many.
The world is a lot less cool now. :(

I lived not far from this great man. His family life was miserable. His very sons, caused him misery. Terrible mental and physical abuse. Frank painted out of strife. Every stroke covered another wound. A series of strokes destroyed Frank's painting hand, but his disability never broke his heart & soul. He painted the last 20 years with his OTHER hand.
This is a legendary, cult figure. As important to fantasy as Frankenstein and Dracula were to the horror genre, Abbot & Costello was to comedy, and Adam and Eve were to the Bible. A true pioneer of fantasy art.
Alive his art work sold for the very highest prices, I can only imagine in death, what it will do to the value of his original works.
