Hello all. I'm new to melee classes, and was wanting some advice on getting started with a fighter. This is a reroll of a current lv 4 fighter I have (Would be rerolled anyhow, since I want to redo the skills).

I'll be going human, 32 point. My goal is to be a DPS oriented TWF fighter, using bastard swords (I know, khopesh and Dwarven Axes are better, but I just like the swords. So ignore that). Here's the current stat spread I'm looking at:

Str 16
Dex 16
Con 16
Int 8
Wis 10
Cha 8

I'm putting 2 points in Wis just to up my will save, since the original version of this fighter was having way too many problems with kobold shaman in Water Works and whatnot. Any input would be greatly appreciated, as long as it's constructive!

Thanks to any who can help.

You might want to drop dex to 15 and put the extra points in str or con. Then you can buy a +2 tome at level 7 and qualify for itwf.

Your character will be fine with those stats.

If it were me, anything less than 18 starting str on a fighter could be improved.
If you have access to a +2 dex tome you could drop dex to 15 and still manage all the twf feats.
14 con will give you plenty of suvivability.

feats/enhancements are more important than stats anyways.

have fun :)

I concur... if you're going dps the 4 points spent (16con vs 14) to get 20 more hp is better going towards str (17 cost 3)...
17 15 15 11 8 8 or 17 15 15 9 10 8 seem appealing even +2 tome gets gtwf human adaptability in con and str and the avenues of skill points even exist possibly improved trip... etc... all depends on the feats he wishes to seek and the PrE's he wishes to persue...

I'm currently using the 16/16/16/8/10/8 build. I had tried an 18 str build, with less dex and con, but I didn't like it as much. I like being a little more sturdy, and the base 16 str is just fine for me. I will be picking up a str and most likely dex (+2 for both) tomes. Right now, my main problem is enhancements. I'm looking to go Kensai eventually, so I know a bit what I need. I'm just not sure what else I'd need. Care to help?
