I run in 800x600 mode (easier to see, I also play DDO in this mode):

- in IE8, the lottery page begins to display at the bottom of the page, running off the edge, and the scroll bars do not scroll the page.

- In the latest Firefox, the page displays high at the top (not as pretty as the devs would like I am sure) and the scroll bars do not work here, either.

I'd also like to know how to access the "in game widget"....am I missing something obvious?

- I attempted to access the MY DDO page while in the game (in 800x600 mode), but I can't get back out of it without entirely exiting the game. I am able to close the DDO store and a few other displays by knowing where to click or where to press ESC.

- Not a my DDO user...and very wedded to 800x600...

Sorry, but 800x600 is REALLY small. How do you play with more than one hotbar? I haven't seen a single web/application designer optimizing for 800x600 for years. Your monitor can already display colors, can't it? ;)

Wedded or not, I'd try a resolution at least a bit higher. Perhaps you can get used to it.

For the DDO developers, I was only trying to report a problem as per the instructions in the announcement - I hope this helps.

For the responder:

Actually, I probably would take a look at 640x400, especially because the font size is already so small in so many places.

I often play in windowed mode and even if I did use DDO in a higher resolution I don't like asking my video card and monitor to keep changing resolutions every time I pop in or out of the DDO window.

While I agree that the screen gets a little crowded with toolbars at times, I can live with that.

Although most web sites are currently "optimized" for 1024x768 or higher, that does not make it appropriate for all audiences, does not necessarily make it appropriate for a web site in this context of an add-on for an MMO, nor does it necessarily make it right. There is a large segment of the population that has vision problems, not to mention longer loading speed, brouser plotting speed and server load for straightforward menus. And, even though a web page is OPTIMIZED for a larger resolution, it's my belief that all web pages should maintain at least minimum functionality (i.e. the ability to scroll to most parts of the page) no matter what resolution you're in.

Yes, I just upgraded my monitor from B/W (Monochrome) to 256 color CGA graphics :) (Actually, I did very much like the yellowish color of that old text monitor, thankfully I'm using a monitor from a Sun Workstation which has much higher refresh rates than many PC CRT's and looks pretty nice (no special video card, don't wanna overload the power supply on this box.)

In fact, I believe there is a large user base for MMO's of people who are retired or on diability and may have a variety of accessibility issues, and have a lot of time on their hands, for whom f2p or even $15/month is a perfect entertainment budget. I think its more important to focus on usability rather than convention.

Lots of veteran DnD'ers are older....

My biggest issue with the lottery page is not the face page itself, but the "submit" window that pops up that is of pre determined size and does NOT scroll with the full page. That is very irritating.

But sadly, it follows the LOTRO lottery, so I don't see it changing. :(
