My friends and I are a 3 man team new to DDO. I did buy a 32 pt build and need some help figuring out a build for a cleric for our group. I am not really a min maxxer or that concerned about being uber come end game content... this is strictly for us to play like 3 hours a week on Sunday nights together... the character will never solo.

My only requirements for myself in making this is he be a dwarf and cleric... do not care if I splash him with a 1 or 2 from something else.

I was looking at Impaqts build... 19 Cleric and a splash of ranger?

Abilities
(32 Point)
{20}Strength 14+6 tem/Divine Power =20
{12}Dexterity 8 +4 Item or Cats Grace =12
{26}Constitution 18 +1 Dwarf Con +1 Tome +6 Item
{8}Intelligence 8
{32}Wisdom 18 +4 Levels +2 Tome +2 Cleric +6 Item
{6}Charisma 6

Still trying to figure out the Feats and such.

Your lack of reply's speak for your build's solidness based on the information you've provided (which isn't a lot). The only thing I could possibly see is making con 16 and str 16 but that is only +1 to hit and +1 to damage which a cleric won't need unless doing epic content. Further, more hp is always better and you can break 500 with the build you've posted.

Thanks. Do appreciate the reply.

Not too concerned about a lack of replies... either someone wants to help or they don't. I actually prefer no replies to the canned "Why are you asking without researching blah blah blah". It's the same with every MMO discussion board Ive seen dating back to the 90s. *shrug* If I knew enough to have posted more I would have... but everything I had come across on here and Ten Ton Hammer before last night seemed rather out of date.

The Cleric Build Catalog thread got bumped after I posted this, not sure how I missed that in my search, so trying to use that to build a more detailed plan.

I would go for one or two level fighter and go for a greataxe.... maybe a little more strength.

Fighter gives you the ability to use greataxes, dwarven axes and tower shhield. so you can go sword and board and/or 2hf. also 1 or 2 addition melee feats.

Feats: thoughness, extended, maximise, empower healing, quicken and if you go for greataxe 2hf, i2hf, g2hf.

if not 2hf maybe improved crit slashing and maybe mental thoughness.

if you want to be more a caster stay with your stats if you want to be more melee focused take more on strength and less wisdom.

why don't all 3 of you make 3 tough clerics, but one with dex and 2 levels of rogue..

get to level 11 , get max , emp blade barriers and run all the mobs through that stuff... win , win , win,.

I know you dont mind about end game but if your friends are taking melee builds or oeven if one is you should consider becoming more of a caster cleric at higher levels, especially after you get Blade Barrier but also for the likes of implosion. Your build will allow you to do that well but also still do a decent bit of fighting.

I would say AC is still quite important for you in the earlier stages and if you do decide to be more caster than melee based I suggest a dwarven axe with a shield rather then a two handed weapon. You will need bonuses that shields can also provide (my TR 8th lvl dwarf cleric has uses a shield with devotion bonus on it right now) along with a few sets of weapons depending on what he role he takes on. IE he has a weapon with spell pen bonus he can use at first for soundbursts and the like then swap to his dps weapon. BTW he uses dwarven axes which are getting a slight improvement in the next update by doing glancing blows.

Your starting stats look great to me, you could move to 16/16 for STR/CON for a little more damage in melee, but either way is perfectly fine.

I would take 1 level of Barbarian and the rest cleric, if barbarian messes up your plans because of alignment issues, then go with fighter. Barbarian and Fighter will both get you more HP's than ranger (10HP's from enhancement and 2 or 4 from hit dice), however Ranger has the sprint boost enhancement (so does barbarian but there are no alignment requirements for ranger) which makes a good argument for ranger.

For weapons I would use dwarven axe and shield while A/C is still helpful and then switch to a great axe around level 8 or 10.

Someone listed feats earlier in the thread that looked good to me.

I dont think its a lack of wanting to help its a lack of being able to help.
You have your starting stats and race. Thats it. No feats, no skills, no enhancements, dont even have what classes you are going to take.

For what its worth... yeah your starting stats look fine for someone that will always group with friends and play 3 hours a week.

for me at least cleric/fighter is a given for most basic builds, especially as a dwarf! though my cleric is a drow i still find fighter level extremely useful especially in early levels. i doubt i'll ever raid so a battle cleric will do almost everything i'll ever want, and so far i'm tougher then most fighters, hit just as hard, and can buff myself and heal myself... its a great solo build however... that being said! if your going to be grouping almost strictly is a battle cleric really way to go? i'd think a caster cleric with some CC focus might be more useful in group setting i know with my friends i play a drow wizard with a massive UMD score so i can basically heal via items as needed and it works well, but besides that i focus on control, and this reduces over all damage the group takes like i said so far has worked for me, just a thought.
