View Full Version : Curious about RP Guilds on this server?

My small group of friends picked DDO up about a month ago. We all come from heavy roleplaying backgrounds, though a lot of that has slowly seeped away over the years. In DDO, a few of us are looking to rekindle our lost passion for roleplay. We've settled on Cannith just through luck of the draw.

Are there any active roleplaying guilds? I have tried looking through the sticky but noticed that it hasn't been updated in an eternity. I saw Doom Brigade's add, but I would kind of like to browse around a bit and see what is out there before going any place yet.

Well, there are a couple here, but it tends to be an individual thing, that kind of just happens in certain groups.

Though, i personally run a RP guild, so they do exist. you can check peoples bio in game too. not everyone with a "story" bio will be interested, but most will.

some that i remember being RP friendly:

Doom Brigade, Champions of Willowdale, Oort Cloud... and cant seem to recall others

hope it helped a bit :)

If you are interested just in RP in general, send a tell to one of my toons: Tyndin, Tynzerg, Tarnon, Gamha, and Oort. Those builds are actually stable and will be around a while, haha.

Yay! Someone recommended Wayfinders! :) I started the channel back when DDO went free. It can be quiet at times, simply because you don't see it when someone logs in. So, say hi when you log in so we know you're there! If I'm on, I'll always respond.

Champions of Willowdale is actually just a group of my friends who play pen and paper D&D together. Not really an rp guild. :)

Doom Brigade is the biggest, and is RP lite, great, laid back people. Oort Cloud is just starting but has excellent people. (but I might be biased) :D

Wayfinders is a great way to meet other rp-ers though and decide what works for ya.

See you around!!

I've ran some times with some of you Oort Cloud people, I can vouch for your excellency :)

The Doom Brigade is more anti-zerg and lite RP even though it seems that lately many have picked us because of the RP angle. We cherish the old skool pnp feel but usually mix in and out of character talk (unless in a spesifically set RP group).

But indeed not too many RP guilds on Cannith so we have to stick together. Wayfinders channel is a nice thing for that. There was some talk about an open RP event coming up - any news of that?

I'll hang out around Wayfinders and see how it goes! Just enjoying the game so far.

I've not heard of anything. If you catch anything else about it, let me know!

I've been kind of busy lately, too much so to put together something myself, but if someone wants to put something together, I will do what I can to promote, and will be there if I am available! :)

If I find a time when I can actually put something together, I'd LOVE to run a fun little rp event. I used to run it on WoW a few years ago, and it is a lot of fun. :) It is based on a norse riddle game. Everyone comes with a few riddles in mind, and some little goodies to wager (Collectables, potions, wands, scrolls, shards, items, platinum, whatever you want, as cheap or expensive as you feel like, it is all in fun.).

The riddles should fit the world we're in, so some can be based on lore, some simple things that would be about everyday things in the world. No obviously modern ones like riddles about toasters or what have you. :D

The riddler puts up a wager that no one will guess it right. Then as people think they have it, they let everyone know (don't say the answer yet). The guesser puts up a wager. If they get it right, they get the riddler's prize. If not, their wager goes in the pot, and it goes on to the next person, and so on until someone gets it. If no one gets it, then the riddler gets the pot.

It sounds kind of complicated, but in practice it is really fairly simple, and a TON of fun. :) If this sounds interesting, let me know, and I'll see about running it sometime in the next month or two as I have time.
