I am happy to see a respec mechanic in game finally, though I cannot say that I am happy about its price. So let me make a suggestion. Based upon the way my pen and paper group played for years. When you have gotten a character to level 10, you are entitled to a respec. When and where you want it. Hang on to it for as long as you like, but you only get one. You dont get to change classes anywhere along the way, but you get to revisit your stats, feats, skills, spell selections, etc. It was explained away as some type of "vacation" or "training" for the character, so as to stick with some of the story-telling aspects of the game.
I would like to see Turbine offer a similar "freebie" for every character at the level 10-12 mark. Generally, you have determined what is broke with your build how it needs to be fixed moving forward. With the influx of new players and the increasing potential that these players really dont know how to min/max yet, I think this would be a great opportunity for every character to be given some new life.
So, based upon what is currently in place, I think every level 10 character should be granted a lesser heart of wood as part of the natural progression of the character.
