Problems with reincarnation with 3 classes

I am currently a 16/2/2 sorc/pally/monk and I just bought a +3 Lesser Druidic Heart to attempt to reincarnate into a 16/2/2 sorc/pally/rogue. My idea is to swap the class monk into rogue using the +2 Lesser Druidic Hearts.

Here is a problem that I am facing.

At the reincarnation screen, I chose style->Specialist->Rogue and it says that:
"You cannot choose this class because you are already trained in too many classes"

I think the issue is because the max multiclass is capped at 3, but even if I was trying to go into a 3-class sorc/pally/rogue, I cannot use this option anymore. I am tempted to reincarnate the 1st lvl into sorc, taking out the monk lvl, then see if later I can replace the monk with rogue (maintainin 3 class total so this bug doesn't happen). BUT that would mean that I'm reincarnating without my first lvl in rogue, gimping all my skills.

I am a little annoyed that this is not mentioned in the reincarnation guideline, and as such, I feel that I have wasted TP on the +3 heart. And might even need to waste another lesser reincarnation just to fix this.

Before I go ahead and reincarnating, I want to at least confirm that I can go from 16/2/2 sorc/pally/monk into sorc/pally/rogue without any problems from my hypothesis laid out above.

Just found the exact same issue.

Have a 12/3/2 Ftr/Pal/Rog. Wanted to swap the rogue levels for Monk levels. Got the 3 class limit error.

Ur only option here is too buy two +3 lesser hearts of wood. First time around changing the two monk levels to either pally or sorc and second time around then changing two levels to rogue.

The way the game is setup now, if you have three classes already and want to replace one of them with a 4th type of class, it will take two runs.

Hopefully they will make a different brand or reincarnation for doing such a thing in the future. I have an old post where I laid this out, I'll try to find it.

EDIT...sorry I think it was explained in this thread how u can do it with just one heart of wood.

Ohhhh...I think I see how this works now, so basically if u have a 3 class character and u want to change one of those classes to something else u have to make sure u have the +'s saved and reserved to maintain only three classes or lower.


I'll use this for a shorter example.....

5FGT/3RNG/2MNK

Original build.....
1st FGT
2nd FGT
3rd FGT
4th FGT
5th RNG
6th RNG
7th MNK
8th MNK
9th FGT
10th RNG

Wants to convert to 5FGT/3RNG/2ROG
1st FGT
2nd FGT
3rd FGT
4th FGT
5th ROG +1
6th RNG
7th FGT +2 error in build conversion
8th ROG +3
9th FGT
10th RNG

end result 6FGT/2RNG/2ROG

By unknowingly taking that FGT at a level u didn't orginally take it at u use up a +, taking the RGE at 5 used up another and deleted one of ur RNG levels, and by level 8 u are left with four classes in ur build and it has to be changed to maintain a 3 class multi...which forces u to lose the level of ROG to maintain the original levels of RNG u wanted or forces u to lose the level of RNG to be able to take the two levels of ROG.

To do it properly it would need to be......and if u wanted to take ROG at first instead for the skill point boost it would be

1st ROG +1
2nd FGT
3rg FGT
4th FGT
5th RNG
6th RNG
7th FGT +2
8th ROG +3
9th FGT
10th RNG

If this IS NOT how it works someone plz say so, I don't want to add to the confusion. :D

I messed it up a little and went to 17/2/1 sorc/pally/rogue lmao. Epic fail. But anyway, the option to change class is very confusing on the ship. The need to add a confirmation that this will change the class with this action (as shown in the character creation screen). The subsequent lvl ups on the ship with a lesser heart +1/+3 is very confusing and I ended up screwing it up.

Regardless it's not so bad since even if I succesfully LRed with one +3 heart, I would still not be able to take rogue as my first lvl, and would have had to use a +1 heart to change my lvl 1 to a rogue. In this case with 17/2/1, I can just use a +1 to change my first lvl to a rogue, and fix things up.

I hope the devs will read the LR feedback because I know plenty of us are hit by the unclear wording/process during LR, at character creation or on the ship.

Major thread necro but for the great good imo.

I just bought and used a +1 lesser heartwood.
I am a 12 fighter 6 monk 1 wizard(my first level) and wanted to change to 12 fighter 6 monk 1 artificer.
The system wont allow me to do that.
According to an ingame senior game master the system wont allow you to take a class that is not one of the original three i have. It does allow you to do that if you have only one or two classes. I have no idea how i was supposed to know that.
The only options i had according to gamemaster is reincarnate twice. (spending twice the money)
Or file a refund ticket, which i did but dont have great hopes for.

Hope this can avoid this happening more.
