How do I "Tell."

Usually, I'm not too dumb. But, today - I am. I can't figure out how to give someone a "tell." I click on "tell" but nothing pops up to let me type anything...

How does this work?

check the general chat tab.

you can swap around what messages are recieved into each window i think but as default all tells go into the general.

Edit - I have one more question if you don't mind. I'm on Korthos Island trying to find a group. Everyone keeps saying "I'm on sunnyside, you have to be on sunnyside" What does this mean? Looks pretty sunny where I'm at.

many a tell has been sent to party chat instead.... or guild chat.... or combat log... lol

To send a tell, just hit enter (or click any chat tab in your chat window, or click the text area in the chat window) and type: "/tell name messagehere" and press enter to send.

Or if they type something first, you can click their name and choose "tell", which should automatically type "/tell name" as well as select the text box, then type the message, and hit enter.

You can also just type /r (message) to send a tell to the person who last messaged you.

sunny side means they have completed the misery peak quest. I wont ruin the story but after that you can group with people. (on the sunny side)

i THINK........ its changed a bit now, if your on snowy side, go to the pier in the village, get the boat to stormreach, come back and i THINK this then puts you on sunny side..... Im not sure if you can do this from the start though or if you need veteran status.

and you can type "mt" which means "mistell" when you type something inappropriate in general or party chat and forget to put the "/tell username" in front of it. :)

yea go to the harbour then when you go back to the village it should be sunny side. Its just like different instances ish.
