View Full Version : How do you self heal as a WF?

I have to admit I am really ****ed about having to go WF for my FS.

WF get Greatsword feats right from the start.

Humans don't even have the choice and have to give up so much to go 2 handed - imo

So I am stuck with making a WF.

1) How do they self heal?

2) Where do I find oil of light repair? (is that what I am supposed to get?) I looked on ah and I looked on vendors - I couldn't find anything for healing myself.

Thanks.

Sorry if I sound a little off, but I just logged out of the game when I found out I couldn't go 2 handed human without using up a lot of feats.

1. Humans get an extra feat over WF, which you could use to buy Greatsword, Falchion, or Greataxe prof if you really wanted to.

2. Q-stave is a two-hander, and you already have prof with that.

3. Warforged self-heal just like any other Favoured Soul; by casting Cure and Heal spells on themselves.

4. You can find Oils or repair in breakables, in chests, or at the vendor in the Marketplace.

Thanks for your replies.

I still think you have to give up to much to go human (FS class feat for human is longsword or bow = wasted class feat if you want to go 2 handed) - but thats just my opinion.

4) Which vendor do I go see?

I went to see the general vendor in the middle of marketplace -and I didn't see anything on him.

Unless I am misunderstanding "how" WF actually heal themselves.

And yes I have the FS heal trained with the WF feat to make them more "healer friendly" but it's pretty gimpy.

Hopefully with the right feats/enhancements it gets better later?

I would try a POTION vendor.

WF get reduced benefit from Divine healing, but that can easily be compensated for. You can get oils of repair, but before long your own cure spells will be more effective than drinking a potion.

Sovereign Host capstone is free CLW. Useful.

Silver Flame capstone is Searing Light. Useful.

Lord of Blades capstone is...shield. Not useful.

There are several vendors there. Look for the potion one. Right next to the wand vendor.

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. What feat are you talking about? Warforged don't have a feat that improves healing. And if you're talking about training the Heal skill, that's also useless since that's just used to get someone with between 0 and -9 HP up to 1 HP.

Warforged start at a 50% penalty to Positive Energy. Through Warforged enhancements, you can refuce that penalty to 25% (so you take 75% of healing instead of 50%). Then you can wear items, like the Docent of Blood or Levik's Bracers to boost that further.

I have seen a lot of wfg posts talking about docent of blood, but i have had no luck trying to find one, or someone that has one and is willing to trade it. At least in Thelanis there are not in the AH, and didnt had any luck posting in the market forum.

I think he's referring to the Warforged Healer's Friend enhancement line.

The THF feat line only improves your 'AoE' abilities (glancing blows) with a two-handed weapon. As a FvS with Blade Barrier these feats aren't nearly as useful as a pure melee toon since you have much better sources of AoE damage than glancing blows. Melkor, who has more experience with THF than myself, also recommends not taking these feats on a THF FvS. You can find his opinion on the subject here (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=211596).
