Ok, so yesterdays attempt didn't go so hot. And it sucks because I didn't have time to try again because my damnable woman.
I'm gonna claim responsibility for that, we'll be getting this going again today at the same time.
I'll be posting an LFM.

Hey hey, sloppy, but we got it done, I am gonna try to get Toaster flagged this weekend probly tonight, i have the materials for boots already. So i will be able to bring him also, WF FB so can help on the dps a little :) I need 3 quests on him and only one to get my tempest flagged, will try to have them both flagged by sunday. I think that the monk and the FB will be better choices, but will have all 3 just to be safe. I do thank all of you for all the hard work, we learned alot. I will make sure and have plenty more pots available too. Since i don't have casters of healers, I always end up with pots. Also have lots of scrolls and plat if need be. Let me know if there is anything else i can do to help.

tring again :( they released something about clerics today
Stanley_Nicholas
04-23-2010, 12:43 PM
Eh, the only real sloppy part was part 1, where most everyone died to the traps. If we're going to use that same location to fight at, melees *must* make sure that there are no spikes on the wall right behind them, otherwise you're going to get impaled when you get thrown up eventually. Pull the judge/jailer to an appropriate position and orient yourself before you start wailing on him. There were a lot of people fighting the judge right between him and a wall full of spikes, which was a disaster waiting to happen.

True, but it still doesn't make clerics better than favored souls. The extra 25% on empowered heal mass cures might mean you can turn off maximize/empower for them, but it's really not that big a deal since heal/mass heal are where it's at now anyway. A minor regen aura and mass restoration pulse are okay, but also nothing to write home about. And it's only being released up to tier 2. Definitely not significant cause to TR into a cleric, IMO.

on elite fight the red names in the dog rooms. Just have your melee beat on him until he loses about 10% health then the dog rooms doors open and you can pull the judge into a dog room. Have one melee primary tank him and others beat on back side in the dog room. It will go much better. Then when judge is dead pull jailor in there.

actually i think it does. if you take the three enhancements + empower healing 2 neckie from hound, that's -8 SP off empowered healing feat if it's turned on. with the extra 75% i'm averaging 2 more sp on my heals but now i think the efficiency of them will top fvs. i'll have to do some calcs but i'm pretty sure that is better than the > 600-800 SP i'm getting on tot atm. fvs doesn't really have much in the way of mana mitigation and i'm really feeling like the extra mana on this class is not making up for it. it's all playstyle but i'm near capping tot so far and i'm not seeing a big diff except when it comes to kiting / throwing bbs, which is not my function in raids

You serve no function in raids, and you also fail at basic math. A maxed out cleric has ~2300sp, right? At best, the boost to Empower Heal grants +25% efficiency, which is 575sp. That's assuming none of that additional healing is lost due to over healing, and that all your sp goes to heals rather than buffs or blade barriers. So even under the most ideal and totally impossible of circumstances, it doesn't grant sp parity with a favored soul. It comes close if you also have extra sp from fvs/sorc past lives, but again only if you don't do any over healing. And that never happens with heal/mass heal, right?
On top of that, favored souls get leap of faith, more hitpoints via toughness enhancements, and 10 DR. They are way more survivable than clerics, which greatly outweighs a minor regeneration aura and mass restoration pulse.
Have a nice day Tot. :)

sure it does, here's why you're wrong. i'm sure you'd realize that once you get to a point of no return = chugging pots time that mana efficiency is much more important than your mana pool. but i'll let you see some of the math I'm working off of
FVS 2800 + 352 bauble + 180 abbot gloves = 3332 3332
QUICKEN 10
ITEM EMPOWER HEALING -2
EMPOWER HEALING 10
SP COST 18
Base Cost Enhancements Throws/Pool
MASS HEAL 50 68 49
MASS CRIT 45 63 52.88888889
MASS SERIOUS 40 58 57.44827586
MASS MOD 35 53 62.86792453
MASS LIGHT 30 48 69.41666667
CLR 2200 + 352 bauble + 180 abbot gloves = 2732 2732
QUICKEN +10 10
ITEM EMPOWER HEALING -2 -2
ENH EMPOWER HEALING -6 -6
EMPOWER HEALING +10 10
12
Base Cost Enhancements Throws/Pool
MASS HEAL 50 62 44.06451613
MASS CRIT 45 57 47.92982456
MASS SERIOUS 40 52 52.53846154
MASS MOD 35 47 58.12765957
MASS LIGHT 30 42 65.04761905
at the moment, fvs only top clerics by about 5 heals per their "enhanced mana pool". i did the calc for tot, which the above assumes u have gloves from abbot + bauble.
i believe once the clr prc comes out it will tip the scales since things like mass csw and mass ccw with the efficiency bonus from the prc (+2 spell levels over cap, +75% heal power) IN ADDITION to the throwable HoTs (of which I will have 18+) makes this a better healing prc. 5-6 heals / pool is not better than 18 HoTs or a more efficient heal balance (which is when you are going over your mana pool, into debt, which is when heal efficiency really matters)
in shroud, you should be throwing mass heal and then a mass csw while waiting on your timer. in addition to the hots and regen from pools, this will make clr > fvs by far.
that being said, i don't expect a cro-magnon of your intelligence level to acknowledge your betters so I'm just gonna sit here and bask in a shade-like glow :D

I'll grant that you have a shade-like glow about you.
Again, your breakdown only holds water if every single spell point you use is spent on a healing spell. In certain situations you can get away with that, but in others you cannot. But that's really not the issue. The issue is, the radiant servant enhancements are not likely to significantly increase healing efficiency, at least not enough to make clerics with PrE's as a whole comparable to or better than favored souls without PrE's.
The regen aura is almost certainly going to function like a paladin aura. Even if it ticks for 7hp as often as a paladin aura refreshes, it's fine for topping off but it's not going to matter in boss fights where melees are being cleaved for 50-100+ per hit. You're still going to have to throw all your mass heals and mass cures. Plus you have to stand with the melees for them to get the aura. Are you going to stand in the melee group in elite shroud? This is only useful for topping off, and vary mildly useful for battle clerics in melee (who won't have 2200 base sp).
The 25% boost to Empower Healing is not a very big deal either. It only boosts your sp efficiency if you are not already overhealing. Well, empowered mass heal is already overhealing. It does provide some benefit to mass cure light and moderate though, so I think that's where you should be making your calculations. In between the mass heal cooldowns, look at substituting the moderate or light mass cure in place of the serious that you say you throw now. That's where you're actually going to see any benefit.
But how big of a benefit? Is it enough to cast an extra 5 heals? Lets assume the boost lets you use mass cure light instead of moderate. You'll be alternating the two spells, so lets compare using your cleric numbers:
Sp cost for mass heal + mass cure serious: 114
Throws of MH + MCS per pool: 23.96
Sp cost for mass heal + mass cure light: 104
Throws of MH + MCL per pool: 26.27
Net benefit is a little more than 2 extra rounds of mass heal plus mass cure light. Just shy of 5 extra spells. Compare that to the numbers for a favored soul who is still using mass cure serious:
Sp cost for mass heal + mass cure serious: 126
Throws of MH + MCS per pool: 26.44
So, this actually does bring the cleric's pure mass healing capacity just about even with that of a favored soul (assuming MCL is good enough, and assuming every single spellpoint is spent solely on alternating between MH and MCL - no MCM, MCS, buffs, raises, blade barriers, etc), though the cleric will still lag behind in everything else from survivability to offensive casting to melee.
I grant that under ideal conditions, radiant servant is a bit better than I had originally thought. And yes, if you do run out of sp and have to drink pots, clerics will make more efficient use of them if all they do is heal. But I still prefer favored soul even under those ideal conditions, because I know that in every other circumstance the fvs will be flat out better instead of close to even.
I know you're the guy who has spent a lot of money on mana pots. If your reason to want to TR back to cleric is that you will be able to use those pots more efficiently, then that's fine. I have never bought sp pots (even from the auction house) and am not going to, so mine are likely fewer in number and definitely harder to replace, but this doesn't even make me consider going cleric for an instant. I also have 2 capped clerics gathering dust while I play my fvs regularly, so I wouldn't even have to TR. Judging by the current appearance of radiant servant, they're just going to get dustier.
P.S.
