upgrading the new items

this is gonna sound like a stupid question, but how do you get the new items upgraded? i cant find the alter to combine the things.

The alter is at the top of the tower in House D. To get to the top, you don't go inside the front door, but instead go up the hill around the right side of the tower. Just keep on going up, the alter is up there.

It's at the very top of the tower in house deneith.

There's a path up about halfway between the tower and the portal.

There's an inventor standing next to the altar on top of the tower.

It is on top of the sentinels tower, named Visbane's Folly :)

If you are facing the final quest giver and look to the right you can see a grassy path up that leads to the top.
