I just hit level 6, and so far leveling has been going much fast than I expected. I suspect that things are about to really slow down and am curious just how far I am from 20 in playtime percentage.

AKA: I was wondering if I was 1/10th, 1/50th, 1/100th, or 1/??? of the way to 20 in played time?

I am a VIP now if that makes a difference.

It slows down. It took you 140K XP to get to L6, another 140K will only get you to L8. It will take 1.9milllion to hit L20. Basically the XP chart and levelling time is back end loaded. http://ddowiki.com/page/Experience_points

Does the xp reward from quests stay about the same then? At 19, is 1000-2000 xp for a quest about normal?

No, it scales up, but not as fast as the xp required per level.


Keep in mind that in DDO, leveling to 20 isn't the big challenge; it's doing all the raids and getting the shiny loot that takes time.

It goes up... but then it levels off, and even drops somewhat for the higher level quests (don't ask, I know that's dumb but its what they did).

There are quests that can bring in as much as 20K on a first time run.

The slowest part is L16-20 where you need 1mil xp and the average quest only gives you a few thousand a run.

Quests are (mostly) longer at high level.

A first run of A New Invasion might net you 12000XP (17000 XP if you do the optional), but it'll take you ~25 minutes (45 with the optional).

That's pretty standard toward endgame, although some quests (particularly Inspired Quarter and Dreaming Dark) are shorter and lower XP.
