Can you sneak attack with ranged and hide right afterwards without the target noticing or for that matter cast invis with an aggro on you?
Oh and this is not part really part of the post but I had to ask for laughs.. are dragons susceptible to the grease spell?

No. Once you have drawn agro you can't just rehide.
And red/purple names are immune to grease knockdown so that would make all current dragons in game immune.

I have witnessed the opposite happening:
I was soloing in Ataraxia explorer, when some trolls that were on a cliff above me saw me and started shooting at me. I couldn't understand where those arrows were coming from, so i think i used my sprint boost to run away and then sneaked. So then i made my way back in sneak mode, and saw these trolls shooting in the direction where they had first spotted me :=] As a kind of experiment, i sneaked back and forth under the cliff but they couldn't see me. Only when i got to the very place where they were shooting anyway did they hit me and got me out of sneak mode. Of course i killed them afterwards... (I'm certain that i didn't use invisibility, and 100% sure i didn't have the Hide in Plain sight feat)
Now that i think about it, it was probably running away fast that did the job, i think i've escaped monsters' agro on me this way more times.. and no, i don't mean that they were after me but returned to their original place automatically cause they had gone too far from it (i don't know how to describe that mechanism better)
