Mage armor
Shield
Protection from evil
Bless

Spell descriptions do not make it very clear, nor does Character panel -- for example, casting Mage Armor does not change displayed AC at all

All of those stack.

Bonuses of different types stack. Mage Armor is an armor bonus, Shield is a shield bonus, and Protection from Evil is a Deflection bonus. Bless does not give an AC bonus. The character panel is pretty buggy in terms of displaying AC, better to look at the details at the bottom of the inventory panel.

So Mage Armor does not stack with armor -- if my toon wears armor +4 or better, Mage Armor is redundant?

Mage armor won't stack with the AC bonus of armor, but will stack with shield. Shield (AC portion) won't stack with the AC you receive from shields. Protection from evil will stack with both of these but not with a protection item, also the bonus will not show up on your character sheet because it is conditional based on the mob you are fighting. Bless will also stack with all of these but of course is not an AC bonus. Bless will not stack with bard songs and the spell bless does not stack with the bless portion of Mass Aid.

In general (and there are exceptions) buffs of the same type (ie. morale, deflection, inherent, etc.) do not stack.

Thank you!

In general (and there are exceptions) buffs of the same type (ie. morale, deflection, inherent, etc.) do not stack.
I knew that, but was not sure just WHAT types are the buffs I listed.

If they ever take a poll on quality-of-life improvements that we would like to see, I would love to see some kind of buff/debuff window added that you could open and close. It would show you all your +s to AC, to hit, etc by type so you could see at a glance that a +2 deflection bonus wouldn't help you, for instance, because you already have a +3 deflection bonus active.

Also, I really don't see why the spells don't say what kind of bonus they give. That seems like an obvious fix since it would not be hard to do and it would be helpful since even if you have the SRD handy there is no guarantee that buff-types in DDO are ALWAYS the same as they are in PnP.
