i've been playing for a bit now and i'm level 4 but I feel like i'm going nowhere. The dungeons rarely change, it's awalys in the same sewers fighting the same kobolds. Is this the only thing available to free players? What else is available? What's the highest level you can get to as a free player?

Turbine inst a charity. Yes, Most "Free" quests are similar. Its the original COntent of the game for the most part.... It should be quite easy to get to level 8 or so totally free.. AFter that, you need to start grinding to gather TUrbine points or spend some cash.

Someone will inevitably link you to it directly, but there is a very comprehensive free players guide addressing exactly this. I think Robi was the author, but I could be wrong. Anyone have the link to this at hand for Valithria?

A lot of the beginning quests are "run around and kill kobolds". This is broken up with the occasional "run around and kill skeletons".

There is some good diversity in the wilderness areas though. The quests they added to Cerulean Hills had some fun dynamics.

At level 7 there is Tear and Gwylan's, both of which are pretty big dungeons with some interesting twists. Redwillow is a level 6 and is a large outdoor area.

So, yes, variety happens but not at really low level. :-)

A fair amount actually...

But yes at truly low level most of the content isn't that different. Free to play does get some very different content once you get out of the harbor and marketplace though. Especially the quests out in The Twelve once you get to level 12 and above.

Though good luck getting high enough level to tackle In the Demon's Den which is F2P without acquiring a mid/high level adventure pack. :D

In my opinion, there's enough content to get to about level 10.
Once you hit within that level range, you can do your first raid. :)

I remember my first Tempest Spine raid.. :)

I went the wrong way, died and had a few people mad at me. Still, it was fun and quite the experience. :)
