Equipment question...

I'm a level five drow rogue and I don't know what equipment to get. As far as armor goes, I have a Mithral breastplate +1. It caps my dex (it's +5, I have +6) so should I get something that will give me more dex bonus? Also, I have boots of +2 dex. I could use help on everything else.

Armor: That's a loaded question...Should is hugely relative.

First, stick to light armor. Second, if you can get something that provides better AC go for it, but don't go broke trying to get there.

Extra Info: Max Dex bonus isn't the end all of armor. IF you're looking to increase your AC from armor take into account: Armor Bonus and Max Dex. The combination of the two will provide total bonus from Armor (there's a whole thread out there if you look for it that discusses maximizing AC so I won't get into that here).

Other gear...
Stat Boosters: Int, Dex, Str, Con (2's are fine, especially for a new player). The goal is to have even numbers in those stats as that's where you'll receive you modifier bonuses.

Skills: Disarm, Search, Spot, Open Locks, as high as you can get them. Again, don't bankrupt yourself on it. You'll outgrow the equipment quickly.
