Drow Arcane Archer - Wrong stats

Hi,
i made a Drow Arcane Archer. From the compendium i read that i should have 18 DEX starting, but i got 16 DEX.

Does the drow no longer get +2 DEX racial bonus?

According to Compendium Starting stats should be:
STR - 14
DEX - 18
CON - 12
INT - 10
WIS - 14
CHA - 10

Made char using that path and got the following stats:
STR - 14
DEX - 16
CON - 14
INT - 10
WIS - 14
CHA - 10

Racial bonus/malus are taken into consideration at character creation, when you spend points in attributes. Check the cost of dex and con attribute of the drow race, you will notice that it costs less to improve your dex to 14 than it cost to raise your con to 14.

So the get the stats mentioned in the Compendium i have to modify the pre-set path?

Never take a preset path. They are not built well. Choose to customize.

dont do preset paths and either reroll if its important to you or do a lesser reincarnation but for 2 points of dex I wouldnt worry to much about it just get a +2 tome at some point.

From what I understand, all pre-set paths use a 28-point build. Regardless of race or ability to make 32-point characters.

So, If you have access to Drow and/or 32-point characters, ALWAYS use a custom build to take full advantage.

Appears that the information in the Compendium is incorrect. It happens from time to time.

It is possible to make a Drow AA with those starting stats by customizing. However those stats might not be the best targets for your purpose.

As others have pointed out, the Pre-made Paths are far from optimized given changes to game mechanics that have taken place since they were created, and because of several flaws for each path build (some more serious than others).

tihocan is doing an excellent job at revamping and updating the Pre-made Paths in this thread (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=232660). I recommend that anyone who would choose to follow a path instead choose customize and use tihocan's builds as guidance.

IMO the +1 to hit with a bow endgame (and weapon if using finesse) doesn't offset the loss of 20 HP.
