OK, so this offer wall thing is a joke, it's a horrible idea.....
Here's a couple ideas for players ViP/Premium/FtP to earn a few more bonus points.
Favor system: OK we all know the roll a toon quik run to 100 favor for the free 25 Tp's. Kind of lame if oyu ask me... How about this.... Leave the current system of 25 Tp's per 100 favor, BUT after you hit 1,000 favor incrase it too 75 Tp's per 100 favor, and then after 2,000 favor, make it 150 Tp's per 100 favor.
XP cap award:
OK, here's another reward players for capping a character. Give them a free 500 Tp's for hitting the XP cap.
Small amounts yes, but far better than the offer wall.....
Any more ideas out there? Try to remember that the ideas have to be non-exploitable to have any chance....

There are many many ways that we could be given TP as rewards. The problem with them is that Turbine make no money out of it.
That was the plan with the Wall. They make money, we get points without spending any.
Unfortunately I have no ideas myself. I really don't relish the idea of having an advert for a well known soft drink engraved into my armor, or a sports logo on my shield.

Back in the days of dial up ISPs, AOL customers were worth about $25.00 each.
This was because AOL knew a lot about each customer and could offer more targeted adds (pay per click was MUCH higher for an AOL subscriber than almost any other).
It seems to me that if Turbine wanted to do this the right way, the could give players the chance to 'opt in' to a survey system, thereby increasing the targeted atmosphere of ads that would be displayed.
This would be eitirely voluntary - and people could set up a separate account for it. Then they would take the survey, interested in cars, not interested in barbie dolls, etc... at which point Turbine or their partner could market that database - want to sell your car magazine, take a whack at our guys, get a credit card, try these guys, etc - offering targeted offers.
A rate of say 1 TP per 12 hours per offer clicked, and a rate of whatever they decided per offer completed would be pretty non-game breaking (it means you could get maximum 720TP per year if you never completed an offer - but turbine would still get paid for the clicks those users generated).
Anyway - that seems better and more managed than just a random offer wall - but I never saw it because I read first not to go there due to account details being shafted away. :p Ah well.

I wont mind running around using my McDonald's armor, Kenny Rogers headgear, a shield of Coke and long swords of Pepsi :D
One of the game I tried have crazy ideas of ads.. we are to brew a mixture of herbs and spices to turn them into Coca Cola where the Game Moderators buys after completion.

Family VIP offerings....
As someone with a few kids that plays as well as myself, I am reluctant to go vip because I would need to get all my kids vip accounts. If they came up with a vip package for families, I think it would interest many of the f2p folks.
Yeah, everyone knows about the 100 point favor grind, but even my kids say they would rather mow the lawn and buy tp then spend the time to grind the tp.
I think some type of system that allowed several accounts associated with a certain ip (for the majority of play) or even a way to buy tp on one account and spread them to others, would be a much sounder approach.
I fully support their desire to make money. The way i see it, in other games I have had to buy the game several times and then the expansion packs 3 times, only to have them offer all of it bundled for less than the original cost a year or so later. I was planning to purchase the 5000 points for myself and all the kids, but we missed the 6900 special... now my kids are afraid to spend their hard earned money because they might miss out on the 'Next' special (we had purchased points 2 weeks before as well)...
So some type of plan that addressed the family situation I think would be very lucrative.

One of the best thing turbine can do is to let other areas buy turbine points. I have the cash to buy points but was being denied to buy some.
Same case with other online friends, because they migrated for work, they started to get denied for buying points.
We can still get VIP though but that does not resolve the need for turbine points. Also, the store was being driven by turbine points, the lesser we can get some.. the lesser the store will get sales.

Smatt, you're not on the right track. The reason for Turbine offering that Wall is not looking for new ways to award players with Turbine Points. It's making a profit as a company. Try to read one of my posts where I had an idea to implement 15-30 video ad before each logon for F2P players. The benefits:
- Some (not the best of scam-spammers, but honest I guess) payoff from legit advertisers. It works wonders with VoD content over the net.
- It's foolproof, so it actually defends the customer. You cannot click on a video (at least I'd make it so), so no 'Oh ****! I just gave away my login info!' moments. Not for you and not for naive F2P'er.
- This will give F2P players more incentive to sign up for VIP - being no-ad service.
Think, you're paying for this game monthly. Do you feel you get the expected level of support? I don't think so. The billing support works wonders, but nothing comes the other way. This will actually make me feel VIP, really.
I think this specific idea is quite profitable for Turbine. Needs a bit more polishing though.

The average pre-DDO:EU player is not a kid who looks for some fun for free. We are doctors, lawyers, gov. employees, economists, anything you like! We got the resources, and we can find TONS(!) of useful ideas for Turbine. Why? Because we like this game. I am willing to work out something - completely for free for Turbine - as long as it will keep my game mine. The way I like it.

Somewhat agreed but Premium players (maybe with a minimum spent) should be exempt too we're essentially P2P too just in a different way (I can't always afford 15 a month but sometimes i can throw down 50$ for points)
Also this may cause alot of F2P to leave which sure their F2P w/e but they were potential customers
Lastly I think you guys take the title V.I.P. to seriously it just another payment option you really shouldn't be treated special beyond early acess to content, etc. premium bring in just as much money if not more

Well, I would say that I understood exactly what they were trying to do, and while my ideas were different they would also encourage more people to actually spend time playing hte game, and in a roundabout way that would lead to more revenue. It would be less profitable no doubt, but it would be another encouragement for the player base. A positve type of revenue stream. As is your idea, it would work as well... Been around the bend a few times myself, and spent a lot of time trying to increase profits in various and sometimes unconventional ways. Me just being me, I would rather make .02 with positive reenforcement style revnue streams, as oppossed to .10 on the Ha Ha got ya type streams.
Shortisighted and naive, perhaps.. But it has worked well for me... I'm not greedy though, so I buck the human condition so to speak :D

Why would they give you more for something they don't have to give you more for?
They give you some free, and they give you more to help them make money (or to just make them money if you buy them).
I hate to say it, but they're not giving you free TP for the lulz, that's why they don't give you a lot of em ;p
But at the same time, I don't find this unfair at all, most ftp games are extremely limited without paying money, DDO is limited without paying money OR grinding, at least they give you the grinding option ;p
edit: the offer wall no more gave away your login info than you posting on the forums gives away your forum login info.

what makes the sending of info earn a lot of complaints and rants was that.. the one being sent was your billing account username and the email address tied to it. as for the forum username, it wont do much since clicking "my account" requires a new login screen and if you are smart enough.. your billing info username will be different from your forum username.
