We currently get 1.5 larges on a normal run, I've done it on Elite a few times and it drops the same number of larges as it does on normal. other than getting it once for favor what's the point?

Increase the reward to be worth the time involved. Prepping for Shroud Elite has gotten many of us to up our game, it would be nice if it's rewards were better to encourage more people to do the same.

Been suggested before - but I still agree. Guaranteed shards for everyone would be swell too :D

Really should have been in the game since mod 6.

On elite 50% small shard chance would be awesome, hard 25%, keep normal same...

Double amount of larges (2 garunteed from part 5 chests, 2 extra possible from the part 2 chests) on elite, 2 garunteed on hard no extra possible.

I think those numbers would work out favorably.

Since turbine likes us new players, this would be a great way for newer players to catch up. My semi-static group on Ghallanda had only one Tier III GS weapon the first time we did this so newer players can do this. It's not like there isn't enough other stuff to grind in this game.

Shameless bump to try to drum up support. yeah, I doubt anything will change but it's worth lobbying for.

That would finally give some incentive to run it on hard/elite

Currently there is no reason to run it on hard/elite

Any extras should only appear in the last chest of pt 5, otherwise people will just farm pt 1 (or 1-3, or w/e) on elite again.

On hard:
10% chance of each shard dropping in end chest (plus normal chance of super shard, possibility of 1 small + 1 med + 2 large shards in chest per person)
50% chance of 2nd large ingredient.

On Elite:
20% chance of each shard dropping
100% chance of 2nd large ingredient.

Agreed. This would give a good (and by the sounds of it, much needed) reason/reward to those running he harder versions of the quest.

However I don't think it would help new players catch up, and might hi der their progress. I say this because those who already "have" are the ones to do hard/elite; if you don't already have the gear you probably won't run or can't complete the harder level. Thus it won't help the new player. Also the experenced players will be more likely to run the harder levels, and probably with a smaller circle of friends (due to the risk of failure being greater). Thus hurting the new player due to less vets running a level they can handle.

I'm not trying to knock the idea at all, just pointing out one potential down side (which may be a moot point as people will still be farming normal b/c it is quicker to get a group/quicker to run).

My first Elite Shroud had 1 Mineral II weapon in it. Nothing stopping newbs from doing it as long as they've a clue and can bypass DR. We've got a static group now on Ghallanda that's going to start doing this every week rotating in a few different people each time.

There is no downside.

And everyone was level 16. Yet all the LFMs I see today are 18-20. *boggle*

Lol, I should have looked at your join date.

My point still stands that the raid was getting completed successfully and quickly (elite successfully, but not quite as quickly) when the level cap was 16 and people were still collecting ingredients for their mineral IIs.

And congratulations on your elite run. :)

Thanks, Shroud elite isn't that hard with a good team. it does take longer and you have to pay attention (unlike several of the 2 AM drunken weekend Shrouds I've been in lately). Our second run included a 250 HP rogue and two people who didn't have metaline/pg weapons until 5 minutes before the raid (and no barbarians either!).

Still few people do it because other than getting the favor once there is zero incentive. The precedent is set with ToD dropping more Trophies on hard (trying tonight, wish us luck). Hard/Elite Shroud should do the same, drop more larges. it's not like we don't have a zillion other things to grind in the game.

Let's focus on revenue. how many people wait for their GS to get done before they TR? The faster we get the GS done, the faster we TR. More TRing equals more hearts of wood sold in the DDO strore. Turbine, think of the revenue . . .

Well, Tim, some of us were under the Uber curve and had to do a Shroud on level 14 toons...overall I think we had only 3 level 16s in the party and 7 or 8 level 14s! LOL

Yes they should lower the drop rates on normal and increase the drop rates on elite. 2 large ingriedients on elite, 1.5 on hard, and 1 on normal. On normal Shroud the large should only drop on part 5.

Definitely /not signed on this suggestion by you...leave the drop rate the same on Normal and up it a little on Hard and a bit more on Elite. It takes enough ingredients, as it is, to make most weapons/items worth a **** <cough>dualshard<cough>. Plus, who only makes one item/weapon per character?

Normals pretty boring to epic gearred players. For such groups hard is almost as boring.
Elites still semi fun, but really not worth it.

I'd put a whole extra chest in on elite, given the difficulty ramp up there. Like 1 big giantass gold one (SoS style) in the center after Arraetrikos falls. Have it drop supreme shards and large ingredients at a higher rate then any other, give it an extremely small chance of dropping 2 large ingredients for 1 person)

Not epicly-geared by a long shot - try it 3 AM drunk with the first 11 people who show up. it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get.

Elite should drop 2 larges in part 5 regardless.
