DODGE-A-THON!!!!!

That's right peeps, it's almost time for me to make my triumphant return to DDO and it will start off with a MASSIVE dodge-a-thon.

So here's the plan - I want, at a minimum, 20 casters, and, at a minimum, 20 participants. Cost will be 25K PP to enter. As always, winning caster gets 10% of the take, winner gets 50%, second place gets 25%, and third gets 15%.



UPDATED: Date looks to be APRIL 24th at 8 PM EST. It will definitely be on that Saturday so if 8 PM EST doesn't work for everyone please start letting me know now. We will be using the PvP Pit in House J. Please be there ASAP because it will still take about 15 minutes to set up all the groups and collect the money.

Rules of the Dodge-a-thon:

Casters:


Casters must be in one of the official raid parties started for the caster groups to win the prize.
Casters must only cast when the leader of their raid party instructs the group to cast. We do sometimes stagger the casting so that is why we ask for you to wait until told to cast.
Casters may only use AOE spells.
Casters should not target any one specific character.
Casters may not cast buffs or debuffs on any of the contestants.

Dodgers:


Only spells that you personally cast as self-buffs are allowed and must be cast on yourself prior to entering the playing field, with the only exceptions being items #2.
If you have UMD or items that cast spells as buffs you can use them to buff.
No items may be used that have permanent buff effects on them such as the Ring of the Djinni with it's 33% electrical absorption or anything that offers permanent resists.
The Extend meta-magic feat may not be used on your buffs.
You may not eat any food or drink prior to going into the playing field.
Action boosts may be used but there is NO REBUFFING during the contest which includes using action boosts that have expired.
There is no healing other than tavern healing while in the playing field.
There is no moving while in the playing field and contestants must be bunched together so the AOE spells can affect the maximum number of contestants.
Last person standing wins.

The Winner was Mrchosenone and thanks to Blah the winner received an extra 250K so he ended up receiving a grand total of 600K PP.

Second place was Vinney and he received 50K PP.

Third place was Seriouslyy and he received 30K PP.

The winning caster was Deanmachine and he received 25K PP.

Looking for clarification here, people can use scrolls and clickies to buff, so cloak of ice and bluefire necklace are ok? Firestorm greaves are not, correct? What happens if you can cast the resist on yourself, can you then just wear it on an item to save time instead?

What about self healing for those of us with a natural non UMD ability to do it, ie wf rogues with their repair over time clickies, paladins, evasion fvs, etc..

I forget - is meteor swarm 100% evadable or just 50%? Meaning, is there a component of the spell that will always do damage or will a successful evasion roll completely negate all damage.

2. What's an eardweller? If it has a permanent buff on it then no, if it only has a temporary buff then sure if you want to stick something in your ear, go for it.

Yes, cloak of ice and bluefire necklace are ok, firestorm greaves are not. And you can only buff yourself once, there are no rebuffs during the contest.

No you can't wear any items with permanent buffs. The Dodge-a-thon can go on quite a while if people are getting lucky enough to roll well so I want buffs to start wearing off so it makes it harder and harder to stay alive if you fail a roll.

They've never been a problem before and this will be the 7th or 8th Dodge-a-thon I've ran. Sure people may cheat but for the most part everyone is there to have fun not really to win the prize. And this contest really is for the high reflex types but we have had non-evasion winners in the past because they had many more HP than the evasion toons.
