Empower vrs Empower Healing

OK I know this has been discussed to death. However, a guildy has me doubting years of game knowledge so can someone please help? I can not get to the wiki or anything but would love your help.

Does the metamagic feat Empower work on cure and healing spells. If so, does it stack with the Empowered Healing feat?

empower works on every damage spell with dices, so also on cures
empower healing works on all healing spells, so all cures, heal and heal mass

Easy way to check is to look at the spell cost with no metas. Toggle empower. Check cost. Toggle empower heal. Check cost.

I'm inclined to say yes but I can't say for certain as I'm not in game, and I almost never heal when I'm playing my cleric :D ;)

They do stack. Empower does not work on 'Heal' spells but does work on 'Cure' spells.

I was recently told empowered does not work on heal only empowered healing though when I have empowered on it seemed to me my heals crit more. I dont honestly know though and ive taken to shutting metas off while healing more relying on potency and devotion now to boost my heals and its worked better in saving sps.

Wish I could honestly answer your question though and I do feel empowered does work on heals but people who know the game better then me said they did not.

They stack. Empower healing works on heal spells and all cure spells. Empower works on all cure spells but not heal spells. This has to do with empower healing boosting all healing spells while empower boosts all spells with damage dice. Heal has a fixed heal output therefore is not effected by empower.

One thing to keep in mind is the additional spell point cost of the Generic Empower.

I think Empower Healing only costs 10 where Generic Empower costs 15 for the same % benefit.

I would still take both feats for bbs, I have 3 tiers of imp emp heal on my clr (-6) and the lorrik's necklace so it totales to -8, making emp heal only cost 2 sp which is very worth it.

Thank you for the responses, it makes sense. The SP cost is something to consider and overhealing is a problem. Good to know you can cut out one though if you are feat starved.

You are a little off there. The first level of imp emp healing enhancement reduces it by 1 mana. The second by another 1. The third by another 2. Lorricks reduces it by another 2 further.

Final mana cost is 4 mana.

I currently take maximize and empower healing. I can kill even epic mobs with my BB with this setup, can lay down the healing with a punch if I need to, and can go forever in efficiency mode of healing if I need too. Clerics are pretty feat starved, I wouldn't recommend taking both empower versions.
