Many moons ago, before Re-incarnate was provided, building a new character, for me, was a hand wrangling, angst filled, forum trolling nightmare.
Every point I put into a Stat was like pulling teeth. Put it in STR, but I need CON, but my AC from DEX can't be ignored, plus balance checks...oh, but if I go more offensive caster, I need higher DCs, etc.
You had to build a toon for the entire game, from start to finish. Certain builds excelled at low levels, other at high levels, it was an art form in some regards.
Now enter in Re-incarnate, especially the lesser. I would assume most players have learned what works best at different levels. For me I've seen the breakdown around:
Lvls 1 -8
Lvls 8-14
Lvls 14-20
With Lesser Reincarnate, I no longer think about builds the same way. I build toons that excel at each lvl bracket.
I'm able to massage the stats of a toon to excel at each lvl bracket, and how you build a toon for each bracket, for me, differs greatly.
So, I love being able to change my toons to fit the part of the game they are in, but, part of me misses the fatal decisions many of us had to deal with in the past when leveling a toon.
As with many other posts, I've been hit my fair share of changing rules by DDO, thus making some builds no longer viable, which the Re-incarnate features helped solve, I get it, I do.
I love Lesser Reincarnate for what it allows me to do, and I hate it for the very same reason....
