With the additions of new quests and more epic content, I beg you to please rework the current favor reward system to include giving players something for their accomplishments. Have casual give same favor as solo would give them, norml/hard/elite stay the way they are now but please add favor for epic. One reason epic does not go over well for some is that cost to complete it. The amount of resourses needed from start to finish for a few isn't worth the continued grind to obtain the epic items. It would be great to have mana pots or scrolls offered in a special favor reward (even better would be scrolls like wands that take into account casters actual level) as well as healing pots without negative effects for higher level content. If you want the players to enjoy the content help but giving them aid and tools to make it easier for them to do so, we already have high favor amounts that give zero reward.

wow 75 views and zero response!! I'm a little surprised as I would think more players would welcome a way to obtain items based on in game accomplishments rather then real life money spent in ddo stores!!

Give the players that are tryin to grind epic something for their time and we may not see as many goodbye threads.

Give the players that are tryin to grind epic something for their time and we may not see as many goodbye threads. While I definitely agree that long-time player retention is an issue I hope Turbine is giving some serious thought towards, I don't think that giving us things from the Store is the answer. Nor do I think it would in any way curb the new wave of exoduses from the game from happening.

Besides - we already get that from Favor in the form of 25 Store points from 100 Favor points. Save them up, and one can buy the mana points you mention from the Store anyways.

As for the healing potions without negatives... I don't think that is bound to happen. The current in-vogue Dev approach to pretty much any **** thing is that any positive needs to be aggressively countered with a whopping negative. It would take a radical shift in Dev philosophy in order to get off this track we're on - and frankly, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Not that it matters, anyway...

After the Pale Master discussion recently as well as a few other recent developments - I'm pretty much giving up on the Devs taking anything we say into account. They have their vision of the game - and the hell with any of us mere players who dare to disagree.

I dont think thats entirely true Memnir. I can see why you say it, and why you think it and in some ways I feel the same. Yet the State of Game Address by Mr Paiz does kinda show that actually the Devs really are trying to implement many of the features we want and have asked for.

I admit, I am not absolutely happy with the way the Devs have implemented various things. But to say they dont listen to us at all is probably not true.

Your last statement, "that they have their vision of the game and the hell with any of us mere players who dare to disagree" certainly characterises how I have felt with regards the lack of feedback from the Developers in the past. But I hope that is changeing, and the less dictatorial and the more democratic the Dev philpsophy becomes the
better development of DDO will be.

Aestor The Knight :)

I'm fairly sure epic does give higher favor then elite. of course I could be wrong, it does happen, but when i look at my favor log it says 'epic' on the ones i've done on epic

It says "epic" and has a cute color but gives no additional favor.

I agree that the whole idea of putting potions that heal without the drawback of penalties up the characters wazoo is brilliant. Why is it that Clerics and Favored Souls and even Bards can go around soloing quests, but the only way a barbarian can do it is by using 3 backpacks full of healing pots. No one will stop playing clerics or favored souls if they add heal potions. It will just make adventuring so much more easier for people, I've see raids drop because you want to run a shroud and only 1 healer isn't on a timer, or logged off or unwilling to go, or even doesn't have enough time. Why can't players try to do something without a healer? Does it matter if it costs 20, 30 or 50k plat to buy 100 potions... sure let it be expensive... same with mana pots. If it is too much trouble make it something like 500 favor with one of the houses and be lvl 15+ to be able to buy them. When hirelings really don't mean anything, cause they are dead before they are summoned into quests.

There's your idea for favor / love to players.

I can understand giving each lvl its own favor, but the issue is that favor is scaled by difficulty. Unless you change the favor given on Normal -Epic, many completions on casual setting up until lvl 7 or so would only give you 1-2 favor points.

Changing the favor given would be a very bad thing. Currently each house is capped around 400 favor. What are you supposed to do if you are VIP or Premium and you can suddenly reach 600 or 800 favor in each house?
