Questions about Blade Barrier?

Do monsters get hurt only when they contact the white spinning blades part or whenever they are inside the circle?

What types of damage does it deal? Is it like FW where it has entry dmg then ongoing dmg?

If they do take ongoing dmg, is it when they touch the blades or when they sit in the circle?

Do they take repeat damage if say they walk in, then walk out, then walk back in?

every time they pass the blades, they get damage. if they sit in the middle, they only get damage once when its casted.
running them around in the blades in circles damages them over and over also, but needs practice

Yes, the objective with blade barrier is to cast it and run back and forth through it so the monsters chase you and come in contact with the blades multiple times.

You can also run around in a circle on the outside of the barrier slowly dragging the monster(s) with you and through it numerous times.

There is a small sensitive area outside the physical border of the blades that you see, where any monster that passes through that area will take a hit. If a monster is stationary, it will only take a hit when the barrier is cast. In order to be hit a second time, it needs to either pass through the middle and out the other side, or back out the way it came and then into the barrier again. Very rarely, I've seen a monster skirting the edge of a barrier and get hit repeatedly, but this is unpredictable at best, and you'll lose a TON of damage trying to force it to happen.

Barrier damage is listed as "Slashing" in the combat log, but it is actually completely untyped, and no monster has any kind of resistance to it. Incorporeal undead who phase in and out will not take damage if they move through it while phased out. Teleporting monsters who teleport through the area of the barrier -will- be hit by it.
