Ok, well me and my friend decided to reroll with possible other friends. But, Im not sure what I want. I just bought the monk class..so, i dont want to wast it but...i kinda wanna play a mage...or a melee claric of some sort. Im just not sure how I would build it....as in...

Q: Whats the difference between Sorc/Wiz??
Q: Can I multiclass with anything as Monk/Sorc/Wiz/Claric without gimping late game(and is it good)?
S: I have a level 10 Claric on kyber that heals 250-310 and doesn't run out of mana like ever.. :/ but I dont play him now more. So, I know how to play a good healing claric. Maybe a melee claric?
S: Thoes are the only classes I have interest in. But, If like a bard or fighter or any other class can splash with any of thoes as my main(Monk/Sorc/Wiz/CLaric) and tell me what there good for. I'll check it out.

Q1- * Wizards basically get access to more spells, and they can transcribe them into their spellbooks from scrolls, and get more at level up than Sorcs. Sorcs, however get more spellpoints*[/i]

Q2 - *I've seen various combinations of Monk and..well, anything be successfull. Really all depends on what you wanna play. Monk and Cleric share a prime stat ( WIS) and Monk and Rogue share DEX as a prime.*

Monk2/Cleric18 is a very popular build. Has nice synergy with Wis (casting stat for Cleric, AC bonus from Monk). Also gets Evasion and whats most important you get 2 extra feats. Really helps if you want a bit more melee oriented Cleric (war priest).

There's a build for an evasion cleric. It requires some high end gear to complete the build but it looks worth it.

I started a char on this build (with some minor changes) 4 days ago and he's up to 4cleric/2monk/1rogue and I'm having a good time.

Very high survivability makes for some very easy soloing.

Having 14/17/19 unbuffed saves is such a treat when only level 7.

I can selfbuff my ac to:

27 when wearing my outfit of invulnerability for the dr 5/magic
28 when wearing my moderate fort outfit bound with +1 alchemical ritual)

3 barkskin pot
3 sheild of faith pot
2 recitation wand
1 stance
1 haste pot
1 cat's grace pot
-----
38 or 39 when fighting

Or when standing back and focusing on healing

5 combat expertise
----
43 or 44

A few more levels and some higher + weapons and I'll be able to have CE on more often.

Dual or 2hander has more to do with race.

Thing is that class (monk and cleric) doesn't give you very impresive weapons by default. So Monk/Cleric hybrids usually go with racial weapons (elf=scimitar/longsword/rapier, drow=shortsword/rapier) and/or with 'diety' weapons.

Cleric can pick (cost 1AP) a diety. That enhancement also gives weapon proficiency and +1 tohit bonus with that weapon.

Any race can take Longsword, Elf can also take Scimitar, Drow shortsword, Warforged Greatsword.

A specific race can also have extra enhancements for some weapons. Like Elf with Scimitars.

Usually players 'combine' this fact. For example: Elf Monk2/Cleric18. Gives Scimitar, extra enhancements for Scimitars and Elfs get +2 Dex so its easier to get Dex 17 for Greater TWF feat.

Elfs usually go Scimitar, Drow shortsword/rapier, Humans go Longsword or just take Khopesh feat, Warforged go with Greatsword. Some Dwarfs go Longsword but many go Cleric17/Monk2/Fighter1 so they can use Axe (any axe counts as dwarf racial weapon, they get extra enhcements for that). No idea what Halflings use.

Ya, but Im asking if I can use 2handers and still be decent. But, my dex would have to drop down to 12-14 with my con preety much 10-12 if I went 2handers. They do more damage then duelwielding. but, im not sure how much room I have when I go Human/Monk as i start him off.

I also don't have warforg or drow (Im thinking human if they have a special weapon at all.

Just to clarify for any new users, it's easier for elf/drow/haflings to get to Dex 17 because of a higher starting stat... you cannot use racial enhacements (rank points) to buy these values and meet prereqs.
