Good afternoon all. I am planning on running VON 1-4 and hopefully 5-6 tonight. I have done these quests before but a long time ago.........18 mos. or more. Since I don't remember them fully, and there are a lot of new people in the game ;>) I am hoping someone can advise me of which parts, 1 through 6 require specific stat limits in order to open a ruin, pull a lever etc. I would hate to get in and determine we did not meet the proper requirements to fulfill the quest. I don't mind a challenge and if I end up with a party of 5 new players, so be it. But to fail because we didn't meet the min. INT for a ruin is something that would irk me. So any help is appreciated.

von 3 require int of 18 i believe
von 5 require 20 wis and 25 str

that should be it for the reqs

I did VoN 3 with my paladin who has a 16 Int. The VoN 5 are, as was stated, 25 Str and 20 Wis.

Edit: The ranged can be done by someone who does the Str or Wis in VoN 5, if they are quick enough.

If I'm not mistaken VON 3 has 3 or 4 INT runes that need to be activated in order to progress to the end and VON 5 has 2 STR levers and 2 WIS runes "and 2 ranged targets that anyone can do with a ranged weapon" that have to be activated at the same time to progress to the end.

If, for some reason, you don't have someone with high int for part 3 it is possible to make a Wizard hireling hit the runes as well assuming there's room in the party for one.

Von 3: 3 runes which need 14 Int.

Von 5: 2 levers need 25 str and 2 runes need 20 wisdom

FYI... I just ran this after returning from a break and here are a couple other things...

1) They no longer need to be run in order to flag.
2) Some of them have moved...part one is no longer in the tavern.
3) You don't fail when getting blown off in VON2 anymore (thank god)

You can fall off during part 6 and not die if you hit the island with the portal too.

once you get to VON 6 don't bother trying to use what you remembered. the raid has changed so that you now have to beat down a djinn on each pillar before you can start beating down the pillars them selves (or something like that). that usually requires you have your whole party running to the bases rather than sending 1 person at a time to "prep" pillars.

also the dragon will breath fire and cook your entire party unless you take cover behind a convenient piece of rock. she tips you that she will start sprouting by blowing fire out her nose.

you may be able to survive the fire with resist/prot on norm but i don't know. i haven't run this at level in ages - just on epic where the fire is pretty much instakill. have fun and good luck.

Quik is a God among the pikers of Sarlona. Those of us who are aspiring pikers worship him! LOL

As far as I know th djiin only exist on the epic setting. A good thread on the changes made to the raid is this one. (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=233367) They also changed the earth eles into fire eles with the last update.

Did VON 1-4 last night on normal (for first time xp and re-familiarize myself with quest series). When great. Note though that my rogue has 15 INT and could not trigger rune's. No biggie though, we had someone with high enough INT. Opened up for raid for parts 5-6. Took a looooooooong time to do as we only had a couple that were familiar. Regardless, after a couple run backs for forgotten levers/switches and a very funny boo-boo on our end (thought we lost the cofer but we were clicking wrong face, LMAO, even put a ticket in RFLMAO) we got the final fight............where you cannot block giant any more! Didn't know that, pleasant surprise. Not prepared, incorrect weapons, only healer left alive to raise inadvertantly clicked a D door a wizzie put up (WHY for heavens sake I do not know because you cannot get back in) and we party wiped............yes, on normal.......sigh. Oh well, live and learn. Try again tonight.

Many times, failing is the best way to learn, isn't it? Btw, my pally's Int is 16 with an item and he is able to get those runes in 3.

I soloed von 3 on my barb 2 weeks ago. He had a 14 int with a 6 item and was able to hit the runes.

The INT is 14 for VON 3. I got them on my barbarian yesterday with a +6 int item. His int is an 8 obviously, but it might scale with difficulty, since I just soloed it on casual so I could get in an ev6 group. /shrug

I've had issues dealing with VoN 3's end boss construct when we didn't have a caster with the right spells. I can't imagine successfully killing it with straight up melee.
Not technically a requirement like an INT rune, but, you know, something to keep in mind :)

Von 3: 3 runes which need 14 Int.

Von 5: 2 levers need 25 str and 2 runes need 20 wisdom

Correct for all difficulties, including Epic. (Personally haven't done VON5 epic, but ahve heard from people that have done it).

Chaotic Aligned weapons....

...Construct bane work well too.

OK, so I got the min stat requirements down. What are weapons/spells to help take down the giant construct at the end of VON5? Metalline? Acid?

Adamantine.

More importantly then that is that they changed the fight allot.. Each hound there gives the boss a special abilitiy.. Kill all the hounds first, and he goes down easy.

If I remember correctly, ANY elemental damage will heal him. I have always used GCB and Adamantine weapons.
