Quick question I've asked a lot of people in game, but no one yet has the answer.

Why do Tharaak Hounds fall over when they are hit hard? And I don't mean that they are tripped. Hit any of those hounds hard and they fall over on their side, and get up in a second.

They will only fall over if they are hit hard when they are dancing. When they dance, they are attempting to cast Phantasmal killer on someone. It's disruptable unlike other spells cast by monsters.

I haven't paid enough attention to be sure, but I think it's more that their PK is easier to disrupt than other spells than that other spells cannot be disrupted at all. Hard to notice since it requires a lot of damage to disrupt their spell and chances are if you hit them that hard you'll simply kill them before they cast.

It has been stated by the developer, that monsters do not get concentration checks, only way to disrupt their casting is through system shock. IE doing 1/2 of their total hp in damage in 1 hit. Hounds are unique.
