Many years ago was The War of Independence. The newly formed United States of America was at war with Nation of Great Briton and all of its military might. Great Briton held a huge tactical advantage in that they could resupply its forces from Canada. George Washington realized that the United States would not be able to survive unless this resupply route could be closed.
Time and again military forces were sent against the British in Upstate New York. The British held a string of forts protecting the supply route. None of them could be taken. George Washington sent a message to the leader of the Militia in Vermont, Ethan Allen. This Militia was called The Green Mountain Boys. This was because Vermont is an abbreviation of 2 French words. Verde which means green and Mont which means mountain. George asked if the local Militia could apply pressure and harass the supply trains coming from Canada.
Ethan Allen went one step further. He gathered together the Green Mountain boys and set out for Fort Ticonderoga in New York. Fort Ticonderoga was the largest most defended fort in the chain. Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain boys took the fort by surprise and were able to capture the entire fort and the entire garrison without firing a single shot. This event set in motion victory for the United States.

We didn't need to "take" Canada...we simply walked in backwards, and they thought we were leaving. Oh, and thanks for keeping our head warm Canada, kudos.

wikipedia is written by users.....never completely trust it. Go visit some of the forts along Lake Champlain to hear the true history of them and the Green Mountain Boys.
The reason for the name is the founding three members are all real life friends from Vermont. We do however have members from other states in the US and an extremely skilled player from Europe. That of course is how we are....not need or desire to be a big guild, just like to find cool skilled players to group with and enjoy the game.

I read the link you posted on the Wiki. Seem odd to me. My history is correct. What exactly are you referring to? Not a victory? Briton left after Cornwallis was defeated at Yorktown.

The Green Mountain Boys(z) were and are an elite fighting force. Give us a ring. We are always willing to help.

Ummmm....we don't let just anyone join.
We only invite someone after we have ran with them and can tell what type of person they are, but we will give anyone a chance if they are cool and a decent player. The amount of officers you see represents approx. 8 accounts, our core members. Its just easier to have our alts officers as well.
I am afraid you will have to follow the link to war and peace for your good read, but thanks for stopping by our little part of the forums.

Wikipedia is not a reliable source.
It is user written, poorly cited, and can be easily changed.
Sure there are safeguards to some of this, but the articles there should not be used for anything besides easy reference for simple things or as a beginning point.
There is a reason that students from middle school through doctorate programs are not allowed to use wikipedia as a cited source.
Lack of almost any factor that makes a source mildly reliable = wikipedia.
If you want to find out the real story, or at least an academically respected version of any historical event/war/etc. it takes research, not a search engine.

I agree....best way to research is to actually visit the places, like in this case the forts along lake champlain.

We are now level 49 and soon will be level 50 and have a shiny new airship. I hope crystal cove coming back doesn't set us back to far in renown since we are a small 7 to 8 account guild.
If your interested send a PM to one of our members to setup a time to do some runs and see if your a fit.
